Five women. Five horrific stories. One week. And yet, there will still be people more interested in blaming the victims than in confronting the violence that continues to claim women's lives.
So a lift operator wanted to date a surgeon and on refusal doused acid on her. In patriarchal societies, even a random loser can turn into a vicious criminal out of false sense of male entitlement
An acid attack on a doctor inside a hospital is an attack on every woman who dares to study, work, and serve society.
Dr. Mahnoor Nasar was treating patients, yet she became the victim of brutal violence.
If a woman is not safe in a hospital, where is she safe?
Women already fight social barriers to become doctors, teachers, and professionals. They should not have to fight for their lives as well.
The attacker must be arrested immediately and given the strictest punishment.
Justice for Dr. Mahnoor is justice for every girl who dreams of an education and every woman who chooses to work with dignity.

Naveed Masih, a #Christian sanitary worker at the Punjab Assembly, went to clean MPA Sabtain Shah’s room before iftar and was shot dead inside that state facility in #Lahore.
His life was not disposable. We demand justice for Naveed and protection for all minority workers.
I strongly condemn the shocking, heinous burning of a five-month pregnant woman in Sheikhupura. There must be zero tolerance for such barbaric crimes, yet impunity is the norm in cases where the perpetrators should be given the strictest punishments according to the law. Timely and transparent justice in the courts is essential for the protection of women's rights. All the laws are enacted. Why do crimes against women get such low conviction rates ? 5 %! Providing women with protection in all circumstances is the constitutional responsibility of the state. Penalties for offenders must also follow. No progress is possible until women are safe at home and in society.

In Pakistan 5,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year, and nearly 3,000 of them lose their lives to it. I welcome the launch of the @Gavi-supported HPV vaccine to protect millions of girls and safeguard futures: https://t.co/0WmvpIcENZ
Walk. Always walk. Walk with no goal. No destination. No timeline. Walk with friends. Walk alone. Walk with music. Walk with silence. Walk the long way. Walk without your phone. Walk when you don't know what to do next. Because somehow, walking shows you exactly where to go.
