Four years ago today, on May 14, 2022, Amphibia aired its emotional finale, “The Hardest Thing,” on Disney Channel.
The ending gave Anne Boonchuy, Sasha Waybright, Marcy Wu, the Plantars, and the world of Amphibia a powerful goodbye. It was not just about saving the world. It was about growing up, changing, and accepting that some friendships stay with us even when people have to go separate ways.

Now, the story is continuing in a new way with Amphibia: Strange Voyage, an upcoming graphic novel focusing on Sprig, Ivy, and the Plantars after Anne’s departure.
That makes the return especially meaningful. Sprig is still carrying memories of Anne, while Ivy finally gets more space to shine beside him. It sounds like a story about love, grief, adventure, and learning how to live after a life-changing goodbye.
Four years later, Amphibia remains one of Disney’s most beloved modern animated series.
