It's been quite a start to the ski season in the #grandmassif with over a metre of snow recently at altitude and 45cm in the village of #lescarroz. Then blue skies for the rest of this week. It doesn't get much better.

Revised closures in the #grandmassif, with #lescarroz already closed on April 7, #Samoens closing today and Flaine closing on April 21 after recent snow arrived earlier this week at altitude.

End of season skiing in the #grandmasdid. Did Samoens, Les Carroz and Morillon. Snow great above 1500m. Snow arriving Tues And Wednesday so should ensure resorts are open next week.

Good news for #grandmassif villages with up to 20cm of snow forecast Friday through Sunday, with snow down to 1000m on Sunday and sub zero temperatures which should permit snow blowers.

@Iain1310 Start of the week looks like rain, then sunshine, but as you say above zero temperatures. However, there is such a good snow base that the skiing will be good.

Very messy conditions in the #grandmassif today with warmer temperatures above zero and moderate rainfall to high altitude and lifts closed. The relief is that it changes to heavy snow overnight and tommorrow.

Magnificent ski day in #flaine #grandmassif under deep blue skies and 4m of snow it doesn't get much better.

Skiing the four villages of the #grandmassif yesterday and today. Snow is fantastic down to 1200m with a top up snowfall last night. No queues and empty slopes makes for perfection.

#Flaine is reporting 300cm of snow at the top of the slopes at Grand Platieres and 60cm of snow at the base and similar elsewhere in the #grandmassif at similar altitudes. I've not seen these depths of snow so early for over 20 years.

@Iain1310 It does indeed, I'm there for a few weeks from Jan 8th & really looking forward to it. Even been doing some leg strengthening exercises in preparation. I'll update with real time conditions when there

Flaine is partially opens this weekend, this Saturday December 2  and Sunday December 3, 2023 .
