Lent is on! And God is at work. Dare we trust God to be present and active within us? How willing are we to be changed, to live alive and free? How willing are we to get into divine trouble working for justice?

I am against war crimes. I am against war. I am against murder. I am against theft. I am for justice, reconciliation, negotiation, and peace. May cooler wiser heads prevail tonight.

God, have mercy on us. Deliver us from our ignorance, fear, cruelty, and stupidity. Forgive our sin, and help us find a way to be peacemakers in a world with so many who believe violence is the language that speaks loudest. God help us transform our world. Amen.
