1. Correcting overcorrection from remote teaching

Faculty Forum #UCDavisSITT Theme: Correcting/Over Correction in Remote Teaching (in an effort to provide flexibility, understanding, compassion)

Ex: Many of us learned that students would benefit from accountability/structure/useful pressure when it comes to required viewing.

Faculty Forum: a theme of #UCDavisSITT this year was accountability. We saw how class activities and collaborative work can be powerful social motivators for student participation. Our experiences and data show that learning and teaching have changed and instructors are adapting.

Dr. Mullin shares that in order to create a supported, productive, well-informed, and trained Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) team, they will need:
- Supervision & mentoring
- Organization & structure
- Pedagogical Training
- Reflection on their Growth

Tips for working successfully with GTAs:

1. Job description: explain expectations
2. Establish a schedule
3. Hold weekly meetings
4. Set the tone with undergraduates
5. Give GTAs a piece of the pie: encourage and implement their course improvement ideas!
