Adolescent depression is hard to predict & too often support comes after symptoms appear.
But what if we could predict which young people were at high risk of developing depression in later life?

📢 New research @BMJMentalHealth 👇🏼
Our latest systematic review & meta-analysis (29 studies, 5,825 participants) finds digital peer support can lead to small-moderate improvements in depression, anxiety & social functioning for people in outpatient mental health care.
💻 Online platforms & apps may offer accessible support between appointments
Benefits seen for symptoms, quality of life & personal recovery
No clear effect on treatment engagement
Digital peer support could be a valuable adjunct to usual care, but we need more research on long-term impact & safe, sustainable delivery.
