Why do some women experience side effects from contraception? 💊
“Given that billions of women have used hormonal contraception over the last 60+ years, it's staggering how little research has been done on this,” said Professor Jenny Hall (@UCL_IfWH).

It was a wonderful and inspiring evening celebrating 200 years of women’s health at UCL today.
A journey full of innovation, achievements, advancements and standing for evidence-based science and equality.
It has been 13 years for me at UCL/UCLH and I will remain forever grateful for all that this institution has taught me and supported me with.
A big thank you to Prof Anna David, Prof Melanie Davies and Dr Sophie Clarke for the opportunity to talk about Reproductive Endocrinology at UCL.
From Gerald Swyer and Prof Howard Jacobs to Prof Gerard Conway, Prof Melanie Davies and Prof Joyce Harper, the reproductive medicine unit has been pioneering medical diagnoses and treatments for a wide range of reproductive health conditions spanning puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. Its work in setting up multidisciplinary clinics, involving patients in their care and advocacy and advancing medical education is unparalleled.
It was a special moment for me today summarising these achievements on the 200 years celebration event. Founded in 1826, UCL is a global powerhouse of education and research. It holds a rich history as the first university in England to admit students regardless of their religion, social background, or gender.
Looking forward to many more achievements for RMU in future!
Professor Joyce Harper (@UCL_IfWH) said: “If sportswomen are going into this knowing it – egg freezing – is not going to be a guarantee, in any remote form, that they will have a baby at the end, then that’s OK.”
