Just witnessed a group of UCT protesters in Leslie, mobbing and intimidating a student. Intimidation is not legitimate protest! CPS stands by and does nothing! UCT campus is unsafe and dangerous. Yes, I know, I didn't get it in focus and the group was already moving on.
Access to UCT campus is blocked by protesters. The exits are also blocked. If you're on upper campus, congratulations, you are a hostage. @UCT_news Why does the #UCT leadership allow these blatantly illegal actions? Who actually runs UCT? #HumanRIghtsViolations
@UCT_news any updates? What's happening on campus? Can't get close to upper because of police blockades. Any official communication is now long overdue IMHO.
UCT South entrance is currently open. Remember to get to your exam venue an hour earlier to compensate for increased security measures. Good luck to everyone writing, this is your chance to demonstrate how you've excelled at your studies! #UCTShutdown
I find something horribly vindictive about leaving overturned pot plants and broken glass for UCT cleaning staff. How does making workers lives miserable get you free education? How is this legitimate protest? #UCTShutdown#FeesMustFall
This is how #UCTShutdown hold a candle lit vigil @ the plaza. By burning trash on the other end of campus. Thankfully quick action with fire extinguishers probably saved a few buildings last night. Good work CPS / security / SAPS. #FeesMustFall@UCT_news@GroundUp_News
If you arrive @ UCT today & there aren't piles of burned trash everywhere, it's because the dedicated UCT cleaning staff have been working incredibly hard since very, very early this morning. Every member of the UCT community owes them a lot. @UCT_news#UCTShutdown#FeesMustFall
@alisonfranciscu You are absolutely correct. Was only commenting on current level of criminal protest. Protests have seriously, negatively, affected the entire UCT community.
@Rasekgathi1@linda_whealan & students being victimised by #UCTShutdown protesters? Starving them, closing res kitchens, denying education, attacking students directly?
