@SAgStrikes2023@ucu More than what we're getting.
Our CEO (he chose to be that, we'd rather an actual principal) earns over £250k... The 7th highest in the country, whilst his staff earn the least.
We've had course managers leave to stack shelves at Lidl because the pay is better...
Seven days of closed libraries, because staff keep joining as members, and members keep going on strike.
The University can’t continue like this. We’re ready to negotiate and have been ready since our first mandate in Feb ‘22. Let us resolve this dispute and get back to work!
A message from our President @justinemercer11 to FE members👇
Ballots will start to arrive in the first week of September
But FIRST we need you to make sure your details are up to date
When you’re ballot ready speak to your colleagues + make sure they are too ✊

Low pay, long hours and a lack of professional respect from management are widespread across the college system.
If you work in further education, join UCU today and be part of the biggest campaign in FE history👇

Did you know?
A new £100 million private hospital will be opening next year on the grounds of an NHS trust.
The new hospital will belong to a US-owned private healthcare company, HCA UK.
RT if you think everyone should be aware.
@_TomSix At every level. We receive emails telling us extra interviews have been put on through summer. "But we've no staff!" we cry. "Find some. If you under recruit jobs will go." Is the implied, if not directly spoken answer. 🤬🤬🤬
WE do think about the students. Each and every day.
Unlike the shyster organizations we work for, who exist only to make rich people richer, and education be damned.
Well no. Education won't be damned. Because the UCU will fight.
And we'll win.

When your bosses tell you to "think about the students"
The real effect of the MAB... This is hitting those who were are students in FE, and those who are now will be hit by it too unless @UCEA1 are made to pay, or kicked to the curb.

Today @UniStrathclyde have issued payslips which will mean some members will earn less than the minimum wage.
This from a university who claims that the “wellbeing of staff is our upmost priority”.

Durham are going so far as to deduct on weekends *that follow on from annual leave*. If I'd taken yesterday off, they'd still deduct for today and tomorrow. It's all so pathetically petty.
In case it needs to be said; this is complete rubbish.
The express should probably stop getting its headlines from #GBeebies .
Oh, it should also be sued into liquidation for deliberately misleading voters.
Time this #fakenews game was stopped.
Hear hear...
The law was not only a thinly veiled attack on the trade unions, but on everyone's right to have their say on their management and their terms and conditions. It would lead to rolling back rights to Victorian workhouse standards.

What an end to this week’s strike action.
We know this action has had an impact and we know we’re going to win. Back to work tomorrow—but it’s far from over.
Look out for a branch email with details of next Tuesday’s member meeting, and tell your colleagues to come along! ✊
@Maxine4UCUVP@Maxine4UCUVP how much do you reckon this is, per bod?
We think... There's no accurate numbers... But we think there's 200,000 members of staff in FE...
That makes this whole offer worth a piss poor £27 each...
