The city manager's office, through spokeswoman Mollie Lair, noted that their statement about the $7.5 million concerned a time period before Theetge was placed on leave, not during settlement talks, and therefore no confidentiality agreement was violated.
There have been a variety of opinions from a wide range of city officials in regard to the firing of Police Chief Teresa Theetge, with one council member saying he has been frustrated with the process but that he's backing the interim chief.

Hey @scottsloan ….. your first question to Mark Jeffries this morning was do you support the firing of the police chief. He rambled on for ten minutes but never answered the question. You should have pushed for an actual answer….
Went and listened to the “explanation” this morning at @crsrdschurch ….. only thing I came away with….. the Board really lacks character, loyalty , and the ability to make basic decisions. Lost a lot of respect for the “leadership” team at Crossroads.
