Yesterday when I posted a message appealing for unity & peace in today's protest I had never imagined that the biggest democracy in the world would be under an undeclared EMERGENCY.
I was happy there were so many leaders to lead the movement, but I now learn that they have all been arrested. I hope those arrested will be released soon. I will be compelled to consider an Anshan Fast or Padyatra March if they are not released by tomorrow.

सरकार को अचानक 1 करोड़ स्वयंसेवक क्यों चाहिए?

स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर लाल किले की प्राचीर से पीएम मोदी ने ऐलान किया था... "हम आने वाले दिनों में सिविल डिफेंस का एक वाइब्रेंट नेटवर्क खड़ा करेंगे, एक विशाल आधुनिक स्वयंसेवी बल बनाएंगे।"

क्या भारत में 1 करोड़ स्वयंसेवकों की एक नई फ़ौज तैयार की जा रही है?

नीति आयोग के आंकड़े गवाह हैं कि देश के 8 करोड़ 70 लाख युवा ना छात्र हैं, ना नौकरी में और ना किसी ट्रेनिंग में।

हर 3 में से 2 ग्रेजुएट युवा बेरोजगार या अयोग्य नौकरियों में धकेले जा चुके हैं।

एक तरफ डिग्रियां बेकार हो रही हैं, और दूसरी तरफ सरकार को चाहिए 1 करोड़ स्वयंसेवकों की फौज।

सवाल सिर्फ़ यह नहीं है कि 1 करोड़ स्वयंसेवक क्यों चाहिए, बल्कि सवाल यह भी है कि...

* उन्हें बुलाएगा कौन?

* मना करने पर क्या होगा?

* उनकी ड्यूटी क्या होगी?

* कमान और जवाबदेही किसकी होगी?

* और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण ... क्या इस पूरे मॉडल की पर्याप्त पारदर्शिता और पब्लिक ओवरसाइट है?

जब चयन प्रक्रिया का कोई अता-पता न हो, बजट गायब हो, और कमान का नक्शा जनता से छिपा हो तब यह डर और गहरा जाता है कि क्या आने वाले दिनों में इन्हीं स्वयंसेवकों को जंतर-मंतर पर नौकरी या पेपर लीक के खिलाफ सड़क पर उतरने वाली उसी युवा पीढ़ी के खिलाफ खड़ा किया जाएगा?

इतिहास कभी भीड़ की गिनती नहीं पूछता, इतिहास हमेशा यह पूछता है कि कमान किसके हाथ में थी और उसे देख कौन रहा था।

तालिबानियों या तानाशाही व्यवस्थाओं जैसी इस खामोश साजिश पर चर्चा बेहद ज़रूरी है।
