THE SPACE DUOPOLY: $RKLB & $ASTS
AFTER THE $800B SPACEX SHOCKWAVE
SpaceX raising at an $800 billion valuation should terrify every government and every investor who understands strategic infrastructure.
One company cannot carry an entire nation’s security, launch, and orbital logistics forever.
That’s where Rocket Lab (RKLB) and AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) step in — the most important “second pillars” in the new space economy.
This is not a moonshot thesis.
This is a national-infrastructure thesis
$RKLB: THE ONLY REAL SECOND SOURCE TO SPACEX
For a decade, SpaceX has carried ~70% of global launch capacity on its back.
That is now a national security risk.
The Pentagon cannot rely on one company valued at nearly a trillion dollars.
RKLB is the solution.
Why RKLB matters
•Manufactures almost every critical component in-house
(engines, composites, avionics, guidance)
•Vertical integration = lower costs + faster cycles + supply-chain independence
•Already launching missions for NASA, Space Force, NRO, and defense primes
•Neutron rocket is being built specifically to provide U.S. launch redundancy if SpaceX is unavailable
•Multi-year government contracts → predictable revenue
Rocket Lab isn’t trying to become SpaceX.
They’re becoming the insurance policy for America’s orbital infrastructure.
Where RKLB can realistically go
If Neutron captures even 8–12% of U.S. government + defense launch volume:
•That’s $1.5B–$3B annual revenue
•At a conservative 4–6× sales multiple →
$6B–$18B market cap potential (vs ~current ~$2B)
If RKLB becomes the official second-source launcher, those numbers double.
$ASTS: THE ORBITAL COMM NETWORK OF THE 2030s
If Rocket Lab builds the highway, ASTS runs the traffic.
ASTS is building a space-based cellular network that connects directly to normal smartphones.
No dish.
No hardware add-ons.
No rural towers.
No Wi-Fi.
Why carriers are lining up
For AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, etc., this unlocks:
•Global coverage without spending billions on land towers
•Wholesale network economics
•Recurring revenue without infrastructure build-out
ASTS already has commercial agreements with:
•AT&T
•Vodafone
•Rakuten
•Multiple undisclosed Tier-1 carriers
These are not MOUs.
They are capacity deals with clear revenue paths once the constellation is live.
Where ASTS can realistically go
If ASTS captures just 1–2% of global cellular data via wholesale contracts:
•That’s $3B–$6B annual recurring revenue
•Satellite networks trade at 5–8× ARR
•That implies $15B–$48B valuation potential (vs current <$1B)
If ASTS becomes the default global rural + emergency + oceanic coverage layer, the upside is even larger
SpaceX at $800B forces the market to reprice the entire space sector.
You cannot have a near-trillion-dollar anchor and assume every other company stays microcap.
Space is becoming:
•A national security layer
•A telecom backbone
•A logistics network
•A defense multiplier
RKLB becomes the American backup launcher.
ASTS becomes the orbital telecom layer.
Both become essential.
The next decade of compounding will not be in meme rockets or tourist flights.
It will be in companies that solve structural problems for governments and global carriers.
Space is no longer a theme.
It’s a new asset class.
•RKLB → U.S. launch independence
•ASTS → planetary communications infrastructure
One builds the highway.
One monetizes the traffic.
And both have multi-billion-dollar paths ahead as SpaceX’s valuation rewrites the ceiling for the entire industry.

Zuck's AI narrative, 3 years:
2022: "Year of efficiency." 20,000+ layoffs.
2024: More cuts. Reality Labs bleeding.
2025: "AI will replace entire teams." Q4 revenue $59.9B.
2026: $135B AI capex. 20% headcount reduction.
The math never added up. The narrative did.
April 29 earnings: the verdict.
$META
$NFLX reported Q1 EPS of $1.23.
Sounds like a monster beat.
Until you look closer: roughly $0.47/share came from a one-time tax benefit. Strip that out and you're at $0.76 — essentially in-line.
Q2 guidance then missed on all three metrics that matter:
• Revenue: $12.57B vs $12.64B est.
• EPS: $0.78 vs $0.84 est.
• Operating margin: 33% vs 34% est.
Strip out the tax benefit and NFLX essentially met Q1 estimates. Q2 guidance then missed across revenue, EPS, and margin. And co-founder Reed Hastings sold $40.1M in stock on April 1st — two weeks before earnings dropped.
Co-Founder Reed Hastings left the board. $NFLX stock fell despite Q1 EPS of $1.23 vs $0.66 est. — one-time tax benefit inflated the beat. Q2 guidance missed on revenue ($12.57B vs $12.64B), EPS ($0.78 vs $0.84), and margin (33% vs 34% est.)
$GOOGL is quietly sitting on a $111B SpaceX position that most investors haven't priced in.
Google invested early in SpaceX. At a $1.5T IPO valuation, that stake could be worth $111 billion.
Meanwhile GOOGL trades at $331.39 — and Phillip Securities just raised their price target to $395.
That's 19% upside BEFORE the SpaceX IPO catalyst even hits.
This isn't just a search company anymore. It's a stealth space-economy holding company hiding in plain sight.
$BIRD's $50M convertible facility is larger than its entire market cap.
The company traded at $2.10 with a sub-$50M valuation before announcing its rename to NewBird AI and pivot into GPU compute infrastructure.
That means convert holders can effectively buy the whole company at a discount while retail chases the AI label. The lender is the smart money here — they get cheap equity on any pump, funded by shares diluted from existing holders.
Long Island Iced Tea renamed to Long Blockchain in Dec 2017, surged 500%, then collapsed to delisting and an SEC investigation.
Name-change pivots have a near-100% failure rate for original shareholders. The wool sneaker company buying GPUs at cycle-peak prices isn't an AI play — it's a financing play wearing an AI costume.
This will end badly for sure
$ASML just raised full-year guidance to $43B from $41B and Wall Street barely flinched.
This is the only company on Earth that makes EUV lithography systems. Zero competitors. $380M+ per tool. 2-year lead times.
Every advanced AI chip — whether it's $NVDA, AMD, or custom silicon from Google/Amazon — requires ASML's machines to exist.
$TSM is spending $30B+/year on capex through 2027, ~70% on advanced nodes. Every single one needs EUV. That's not a customer relationship, it's a toll booth.
Gross margins expanding toward 56-60% as high-NA EUV ramps. Yet ASML trades at a discount to NVDA on virtually every multiple.
The market is pricing ASML like a cyclical equipment vendor. It's actually the highest-margin monopoly in the $500B+ AI capex supercycle.
Tanker stocks are about to lose their $10-15K/day war premium.
Trump just said China agreed to stop arming Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. That's 21M barrels/day of oil flow that the market had priced as at-risk.
China buys ~90% of Iran's oil exports. Beijing choosing trade stability over Tehran collapses the last credible Hormuz closure scenario.
$STNG and $INSW trade at 1.5-2x book during geopolitical stress vs 0.8-1x normalized. That's 30-40% multiple compression even if freight rates stay flat.
The risk premium that's juiced dirty tanker rates for 18 months is unwinding in real time.
