Let me explain like a baby for those who don’t understand the concept.

Imagine you have a piggy bank. Now imagine you refused to give Daddy his share of your candy money (Tax). Daddy is now angry.

Instead of asking you again, Daddy has gone to your Uncle, your School Teach and even your Best Friend and said: "If Ngozi has any money with you, give it to me immediately. Do not ask Ngozi for permission. If you don't give it to me, YOU are in big trouble."

So now:
• The Bank (Uncle) has to give LIRS your money without asking you.
• Your Boss (Teacher) has to send your salary to LIRS instead of you.
• Your Tenant (Best Friend) has to pay his rent to LIRS instead of you.

Basically, LIRS has the power to snatch your money from anyone who is holding it for you.

So, Lagos State just legalized 'Financial Kidnapping.' They don't need to take you to court anymore; they just need to send a letter to your bank or your tenant. Imagine paying rent to your Landlord only for LIRS to say 'You still owe us because that money was ours.' This is no longer tax collection, this is a hostile takeover of your personal economy. Is this even constitutional?
