⚠️ Scam Alert – Dehiwala / Kohuwala Area ⚠️
While driving from Hill Street, Dehiwala towards Battaramulla, near Anderson Road, Nedimala, a man forcefully hit my side mirror and pretended I had knocked him down. Soon after, he and another person followed me, trying to stop the car and demand money.
I didn’t stop and rushed straight to Kohuwala Police Station. The moment they saw that, they ran away. At the police, I found another person had faced the same scam.
🚨 Please be alert if you’re driving in the Dehiwala/ Kohuwala areas. Do not stop, do not negotiate anything just tell them to come to the Police Station.

@dialoglk Could you explain which service I’m subscribed to that allows this kind of spamming? I don’t want to unsubscribe one by one every time I receive a new spam text. Also, I don’t think anyone pays Dialog to get spammed like this.
@daraz_lk Do you have a proper customer support system where someone actually tracks issues until they are resolved? The chat isn’t helpful, as there’s no way to track my issue, and I’ve already contacted support about five times.
Issuing a special statement, Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya says the public is permitted to video the actions of Police Officers while on duty.

@dialoglk It’s high time to invest in proper QA for your MyDialog app, or remove features that you can’t support. This has been broken for weeks now and still hasn’t been fixed.
“My first advice to you, the next time you want to take a holiday, go to Sri Lanka. I’m serious. Please go to Sri Lanka. I say this to all of you.” - Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar
At some point we have to question if the police force actually does more harm than good in this country.
Easily one of the sleaziest organisations, from dirty traffic cops to senior officials that worship at the feet of politicians.
Who do they serve and protect?

🌊📡 It's been 19 years since the devastating #Tsunami, and technology has transformed the landscape of early warnings.
⭕️Today, in this digital world, traditional warning towers seem like relics of the past.
💡A national emergency disaster alert system, integrating automated calls, SMS, and social media, would be a more efficient and cost-effective approach to disaster preparedness.
Anyone noticed that Jayantha Dharmadasa is on the suspended EXCO and his brother Upali Dharmadasa is appointed onto the Interim Committee.
Both have headed interim committees in the past.
