I have refrained from saying anything about the video Festus Keyamo posted, the reason is that I blame Peter Obi. I cannot exonerate him.
It would be wrong even as an OBIdient to watch that video and not have some blame for Peter Obi. Unless you are not a true Nigerian.
I will drop some questions.
Is it possible to find any politician of Peter Obi's calibre that vulnerable? If Peter Obi moves with a convoy of security personnel, no airport boy would be able to clamp his car. The reason an airport boy got close to his car to clamp it was the same reason Reno Omokiri had access to him at the airport.
HUMILITY.
APC boys are talking about one police man. Are they aware that Peter Obi is entitled to DSS protection?
Being humble in Nigeria comes with a price and that's what PO is paying.
Nigerians don't rate humble people, they see them as weak people.
It’s Easter Monday and I want to speak some deeper truths.
Moses went up the Mount Sinai and saw God (Exodus 33 vs 18)
Thousands of years later, Elijah went up Mount Sinai and saw God. (1 Kings 19)
Another Thousand years later, during the Transfiguration, Jesus went on the Mountain and saw both Moses and Elijah and discussed with them. The disciples described Jesus face as like the Sun. He looked like a God to them. (Mark 9)
This means that Jesus existed outside the concept of Time and Space and was communicating with Moses and Elijah in their respective time.
To Moses and Elijah, they were on the mountain speaking to God in their respective time.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Keynote from this: Moses represented the Law, Elijah represented the Prophets. Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets.
Pls kindly read and share.
Today is the beginning of the Christian Lent season. This is the Christian equivalent of Ramadan. Lent is a 40days fast for Christians.
And to whom it may concern:
In all of the southern Nigerian states,
Many of which are Christian majority;
NO SCHOOLS HAVE BEEN CLOSED.
NOBODY WILL BE ARRESTED FOR NOT FASTING. NO CHILD WILL BE DEPRIVED OF EDUCATION BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE FASTING. Non Christians will not be tortured, dehumanised or oppressed because some christians are fasting.
Many of you may not be aware of Lent,
Because to christians, Fasting is a personal religious duty and it is not a performative exercise to score some religious narcissistic virtue points.
The Christianity in southern Nigeria is not a religious death cult. We do not use violence to enforce compliance, we do not utilise a lunatic religious police to oppress non-christians and we do not weaponise the power of the state to carry out a hateful intolerant religious oppression of those who are non christians or who have no religion at all.
We hope that our friends and fellow countrymen from other parts of Nigeria will learn the noble virtue of allowing religious freedom, stop engaging in hateful treatment of non-Muslims, end the perpetual religious persecution of non-Muslims, and review the extremist intolerant policies of state-sponsored religious oppression which allow some bigoted religious lunatics and extremist hate mob to use government powers to totally trample on the rights of other people. There are many sane Muslims who do not support this, we appreciate them and I pray they speak up more.
Because in the end,
Religious oppression is utilising the power of the state with readiness to engage in barbaric violence to enforce the dictates of one religion on the entirety of a multi-religious state and all the people within that society, without any regard for those who do not adhere to those religious beliefs.
May God bless Muslims in this Ramadan. May God bless christians in this Lent.
May God hear all of our prayers.
Thank you.
Let’s make something clear:
Peter Obi never attacked the church.
Peter Obi attacked the government.
How many of these charlatans masquerading as church pastors successfully twisted the words of Peter Obi to mean an “attack on the church” is completely shocking and disgraceful.
Let me explain it further:
Peter Obi said working-class people were spending so much time in churches because the government has failed and many people are jobless, unemployed and with a lot of free time on their hands.
He was attacking the government for being so useless and incompetent that people who should be productive with jobs are spending so much time on religious activities. How anybody hears his words and twists it into “an attack on the church” is an outrageous deliberate form of mis-comprehension.
Peter Obi said he will provide jobs so that all those productive hours squandered in church events can be converted into economically productive hours that directly benefits the person. He never attacked the church- because it’s not the church’s fault that people are jobless with so much spare time on their hands. He attacked the government for being incompetent, useless and failing to provide jobs for the people. How anybody hears that and understands it as an attack on the church displays a gross incapacity for rational comprehension.
However that being said,
The way some nigerian pastors are outraged and embittered, over Peter Obi’s comment tells you all you need to know that many of these people do not really want a country that works. They don’t.
Because they know if the country works,
There will be far less clients to deceive and defraud.
If you are not this loud about bad governance, if you are not this loud about societal ills, if you are not this loud about systemic genocide on christians in Nigeria but you are loud once they point fingers at the church programs, I can clearly see you for the performative clown you are.
Christians are being slaughtered in the north, not a word from you. Churches are being attacked and burnt down in the north, not a word from you.
According to https://t.co/m7RfQzZUTm,
Since the year 2000, about 62,000 Christians in Nigeria have been murdered in genocide perpetrated by Islamist jihadist groups including Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), and Fulani militias. The International Committee for Nigeria refers to this genocide as the “Silent Slaughter.” Not a word from many of these opportunist charlatans calling themselves pastors.
More than 8,000 Christians were killed in 2023 alone. This is according to the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety). Again, not a word from many of these pretentious hypocrites calling themselves pastors.
The Owo massacre in Ondo State happened just recently with many Christians massacred and not a word from you. But the moment, someone talks about the squandering of productive time with excessive church programs, you start crying like a bush babies. All of a sudden, you want to talk about “attack on Christianity”. Nonsense.
These pastors know exactly what they are doing. And only fools will fall for it. To deliberately mischaracterise a clear attack on the government by Peter obi as an attack on the church, just because they feel their livelihood is under threat, is really just frankly appalling.
They know a functional society will make many of them irrelevant and redundant so they are currently crying like bees who launch an attack on anyone who attempts to touch their honeypot.
It’s a shame but it’s not a shock.
