@SagnikB67640684@shiladsingh Well even if that's the case, we should atleast be qualifying for expanded Asian Cup regularly. Keep dominating SAFF. Clubs to do decently at AFC level (some teams have budgets worth 70 Crs). Play a good brand of football, not just hoof the ball upfield and run.
@SagnikB67640684@shiladsingh We aren't expecting a 83 style miracle. We need our team to give consistent good results. Qualify for Asian Cup KOs regularly, feature in the final rounds of WC qualification, dominate SAFF, atleast touch top 80s in Rankings. Is this too much to ask for??
@dreamertitan@raitatsunami@RahulRajVerse It wouldn't even need persuading. The value for money/ better Future Cash Flow lies in cricket.
Tell me where would you invest - A roadside tea stall which might close any day, or an established tea brand bringing in constant returns for the last 25 years!!
The audacity to call the 83 WC win a fluke.
Defeated the Defending Champions twice (once in the final)
Defeated Mighty Australia to Qualify For Semis
Defeated Zimbawe after being 17-5
Defeated Host England to Qualify for Finals
I wonder why we are not fluking at Football??
The two biggest reasons cricket became popular in India:
1. Very Very little competition, so it achieved success easily, which pushed the delusion among Indians that they were world-class.
2. The hype around India–Pakistan matches, which was directly linked to nationalism and other sentiments. This further embedded the idea that cricket = nationalism.
Ask your parents , grandparents and elders
Football was way more popular in india before 1983 world cup.
But the fluke win because of very low competition made india think they are world class in something
@dreamertitan@art_lover_09 No it's not. What we want is a ray of hope. A glimmer, which shows - Yes We can do it. Every single IFT game the fans spend 90 mins, just to see a win. If not, atleast some decent football.
Every single time it ends with disappointment. Losses to Afg, Ban. Where is the hope??
@HopelessFanASM Very much required. They've created an artificial layer and mask in front of people. Both need to be severely put under scrutiny and public pressure
@Papdi_Chat_Doku@ProfesorKalinga Cmon you'll put in money from where you will earn it back. Current condition of IFT is such that investing in it is a guaranteed loss for the stakeholder
Indian Footballers start getting criticized for even 1% the way ICT fans criticize their players, they come out and start blaming the fans themselves.
Players like GSS, Jhingan have literally come out blaming fans for their poor performance. Honestly this happens only in IFT.
@HopelessFanASM Agreed @HopelessFanASM bhai. We need development across all sports. And for that all sporting bodies need to be free from corruption. Invest at the bottom of pyramid rather than the top (a big mistake done by ISL). We need a co-existing sporting environment, not a replacement.
Coming from one of the biggest Indian Football Creators btw. The level of ignorance clearly shows.
Love his watch alongs tho..
BCCI being a private entity, has its own investing areas and it does so beautifully. The NCA and WPL are results to show for.
@Deep_Point_ Frustrated fans hai aur kuch nhi. Coach badal dala, players badal dale, fir bhi just 2 wins in 2 years. Sabse easy kya hai? Dal do dusre pe blame. That's the Indian mentality and that's what the IFT fans started doing
@GypsyKing668 Gold ayega toh ranking automatic boost hoga. We may even end up somewhere in 20s with another gold maybe from Hockey, Javelin, Wrestling or Badminton
So much so for hype of 90 mins of running.
Had this been 2010s I would still have agreed.
But the current football system seems to be moving more towards Hockey. 4 quarters.
You already have two water breaks, in between halfs. Literally making it Quarters just like Hockey
59:13 - The ball was in play for 59 minutes, 13 seconds in the match between Brazil and Morocco, the highest ball-in-play time so far at this year's FIFA World Cup.
Open.
@Alok_2405@AmanHasNoName_2 The obsession is not with one sport. Indian Hockey gets support when they play in Rourkela or BBS. ISL had a crazy first couple of seasons and fell off. With all that support what did we achieve in football. Two Asian Cup qualifications, and what else. Nothing to show for!!
