have you ever read something so beautifully written that you lowkey get jealous of the author's writing skills? it's like you wish you had a way with words just like them.

However, there’s only so far these skills can take you when the system itself is ineffective, as that is the case with many of our institutions.
In fact, I love it when they pull the “seems like i need to step in” card 🤣🤣🤣 Like yesssssss, come and witness firsthand the aloofness and incompetence I have been experiencing
At some point, they might say they want to step in. Happily allow them. This isn’t a testament to your capabilities. Watch how they will come back with the same response you have been giving.

One piece of advice I'd give to early-career corporate lawyers, as one myself: if a deliverable is contingent on an MDA, don't make it your personal headache.
Seriously, if a gov office tells you it'll be ready in 3 days, tell your client to expect it in at least 33.
And when a senior lawyer wants to overpromise on what’s clearly outside their control, don’t carry pressure that isn’t yours, just over communicate all your efforts in trying to see it to fruition.

I've been trying to stay strong,
