@living_energy I moved here and I still struggle, it's not normal; humidity, wind, and insolation are so high that the temperature from 15C to 25C is like from 0C to 35C in other places, and all you can experience in one day;
and yes, season absence have mental implications
@TsarinaBomba low-key beaches, low tide, but the drive is a pain in the ass, and the sun goes down behind the hill [so the shorter span for tan]; Point Reyes worth visiting though
yet all of options include selection, and if the dominating generation [or cultural layer] is autocratic, it's impossible to break free from it;
and likely every population will fall down to autocracy, because it's the only self-reinforcing form until extinction
hive mind of dominating [by wealth / assets owned / voting power] generation is what creates reality every given generation;
given cultural inheritance of assets [selectivity via cultural layer], newer generations either have to comply with the older ones or being replaced;
therefore achievements are bs;
experience, given it requires being selected, is bs;
academics, given peer to peer review nature, is bs;
the only experience the one can have is either given by the assets of ones parents, its own assets, loan, or VC, and limited by sales later
@elonmusk that's just egoboosting, or should I say egomaxxing? karpathy is just licking elon's ass describing normal no bs way of work as exceptional lol; the reason this is exceptional is because the last 20y were degeneracy slop
@johannesmkx this doesn't exclude it, but it could also be achieved by selecting higher than average iq people to lead;
the tools and money let dumber people buy abilities and compete with smarter ones, and outcompete by the numbers and dirty behavior
@ChimeraFlea dunno, can't judge with this much info, I dropped out more than 10y ago in another country, I have a poor idea what education is nowadays, but from what I heard I'd either look for a job during studies, or just pursue PhD
quantum or relativistic mathematics, compute? where compute is being viewed from the point of observer and/or takes into account the cost of information acquisition;
I mean it seemed to be always the case of outside system position in math, but within a trained transformer p=np
@Drachs1978 yes, pattern matching is fun for specific activities, but intelligence with pattern matching is like training with inference;
it's like saying P = NP, which can be true only in the systems that hold all the information inside itself already
