Our (first) DocETL preprint is now on Arxiv! "DocETL: Agentic Query Rewriting and Evaluation for Complex Document Processing" https://t.co/5ZGSPmryvZ It has been almost 2 years in the making, so I am very happy we hit this milestone :-)
Breaking: since it is release season, announcing our first suite of specialized language models for document processing tasks (OCR correction, text segmentation, bibliographic extraction) and a new major multimodal dataset we used to train them, Finance Commons.
🥁 Llama3 is out 🥁
8B and 70B models available today.
8k context length.
Trained with 15 trillion tokens on a custom-built 24k GPU cluster.
Great performance on various benchmarks, with Llam3-8B doing better than Llama2-70B in some cases.
More versions are coming over the next few months.

Introducing the latest version of our Hermes series of models, Hermes 2 Pro 7B.
This latest version improves several capabilities, using an updated and cleaned version of the Hermes 2 dataset, and is now trained on a diverse and rich set of function calling and JSON mode samples, thus opening the door to much more reliable and robust agents.

This work was months in the making, and was built by the efforts and collaboration of @teknium, @intrstllrninja , @theemozilla, @karan4d, @huemin_art, and @FireworksAI_HQ; thanks as well to @ByteNano and @winglian for customizing axolotl to support our unique prompt formatting
A special thanks to @Latitudesh for sponsoring the compute to make this model.

Open source is one of the biggest drivers of progress in software - AI would be unrecognizable without it.
However, it is under existential threat from both regulation and well-funded lobby groups.
The community needs to defend it vigorously. 🧵
Today I have a huge announcement.
The dataset used to create Open Hermes 2.5 and Nous-Hermes 2 is now PUBLIC!
Available Here: https://t.co/43Z7tjd0kF
This dataset was the culmination of all my work on curating, filtering, and generating datasets, with over 1M Examples from datasets from across the open source ecosystem and some that I generated as well.
Super excited to be able to finally share this with you all and even more excited to see what you all make from it's release!
Every data source (except one that I can no longer find) is attributed in the data card, but I will post it here in this thread as well - If they have a twitter account they'll be tagged so be sure to follow them all!
