It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that I have received the sad news of the passing of my dear friend, distinguished patriot, freedom fighter, and statesman, General Moses Ali, who departed this life today at 4:25 p.m. at Nakasero Hospital.

General Moses Ali devoted his life to the service of Uganda. His contribution to the struggle for peace, national unity, stability, and reconstruction will forever remain engraved in the history of our nation. He was a courageous soldier, an astute leader, and an elder statesman whose wisdom, humility, and unwavering commitment to Uganda inspired generations of leaders and citizens alike.

On behalf of my family and in my own name, I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Government and people of the Republic of Uganda, the bereaved family of General Moses Ali, the people of Adjumani District, the entire West Nile Sub-region, and all Ugandans who mourn this immense national loss.

May we find comfort in the remarkable legacy he leaves behind a legacy of patriotism, sacrifice, courage, and dedicated public service. His life reminds us that true greatness is measured not by the offices one occupies, but by the lives one touches and the nation one helps to build.

As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate a life lived with honour, duty, and distinction. Uganda has lost one of her finest sons, but his enduring legacy will continue to inspire future generations to serve with integrity, selflessness, and unwavering love for country.

May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him His infinite mercy, admit him into Jannatul Firdaus, and grant strength, comfort, and peace to his family and to all who mourn him.

If you’ve lived with dogs, you know the pain that I’m going through. Around 6:15 this morning, my reckless driver knocked my loyal, trusted friend called Michelle in our compound. I’ve lived with Michelle since 2012, after Sheila and I bought her from a dog show in Lugogo. Actually it was Sheila’s dog.

There were times when everybody abandoned me, and Michelle was there for me. I remember there was a period where I stayed with Michelle for four months, the two of us in this house. Michelle was a very unique friend. She was extremely intelligent and would even knock on my door whenever she wanted to enter my bedroom upstairs. I even told people on my radio show that I have a dog that knocks, and they thought I was lying. That was Michelle. She would also knock whenever she wanted to come to the dining area.

The day I lost my father on 1st September 2019, that’s the day I realized that dogs are like human beings. Michelle came and sat near me in the living room. Because I could not stand the pain of losing my father, I went to my bedroom. Michelle followed me to my bedroom and deliberately refused to leave my side. That’s the kind of friend I have lost.

During the COVID period in 2021, Michelle battled uterine cancer. She underwent surgery at Mutungo Veterinary Clinic, where she spent six days. The doctors discovered she had uterine cancer and removed her uterus. I visited her every single day, and she recovered successfully. Ever since, we lived a good life together. That’s how strong Michelle was.
Today, we have put Michelle to rest. I have lost a loyal and trusted friend.

Those of you who have dogs know the pain I’m going through. In the world we live in today, you can hardly have a loyal friend. A dog will never betray its master.

Losing a loyal dog like that is heartbreaking. They’re family, not just pets. And to lose them to someone’s recklessness makes it hurt even more because it feels so unfair.

Today, I closed the Deepening Ideological Orientation and National Guidance Workshop for local government leaders across Bunyoro sub-region in Kakumiro Town.

I thank the @MoICT_Ug for organising this important workshop.

I used this opportunity reiterate the need for all leaders to integrate the four core principles of the @NRMOnline — Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Socio-economic Transformation, and Democracy —into their work.

I encouraged them to understand Uganda’s development agenda and actively monitor the implementation of wealth-creation programmes such as the Parish Development Model.

This will ensure that wealth-creation funds reach the intended beneficiaries. Leaders have a vital role to play in the socio-economic transformation of our country.@OPMUganda @Parliament_Ug @MoLGUganda

A Statement of Claim filed before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice indicates that Ugandan businessman and real estate developer Yasin Bakaluba has sued Sharon Mutesi and TikTok Technology Canada Inc. over alleged defamatory content shared on TikTok.

According to the court document, Balaluba says he has built a public reputation through his business activities and social media presence. He alleges that videos posted by Sharon Mutesi on the TikTok account “Professor Senga Acid” contained false statements that harmed his reputation, business interests, and public image.

The lawsuit claims that the videos portrayed Bakaluba as being involved in alleged criminal behaviour, dishonesty, sexual misconduct, abusive conduct, and unethical business practices. Bakaluba denies these allegations, saying the claims are false and defamatory.

He is asking for:
- $CAD 500,000 in general damages (approximately UGX 1.35 billion);

- CAD $200,000 in special damages (approximately UGX 540 million);

- CAD $300,000 in aggravated, exemplary, and punitive damages (approximately UGX 810 million).

In total, Bakaluba is seeking CAD $1 million (approximately UGX 2.7 billion).

Bakaluba is also seeking the removal of the alleged defamatory posts, an order preventing further publication of similar content, legal costs, and any other.

Sydney died in a cruel way. What struck me in the videos is how he didn't fight back.
But as someone with forensic pathology knowledge, this was not normal.
Sydney must have been sprayed with some chemicals before they got him out of the car, we don't see that part.
Was a drug toxicology done on autopsy ?
Someone with so much strength, one who can fight and run through several men(during the game) couldn't have just looked on unless he was drugged.

After a year and a half of struggling with a condition caused by childbirth, I finally had to travel to India for surgery, then straight back home and into court the next day. Sometimes people see the headlines, the photos, the appearances, but they don’t see what it takes to keep showing up. I was advised to rest but some responsibilities cannot be postponed and some battles are too important to walk away from, So I showed up.

That’s why you see my mother, my family, and my team standing beside me. They have witnessed this journey firsthand. They know the pain, the challenges, the hospital visits, the difficult days, and everything it took for me to get to this point. Their presence wasn’t just support for a court appearance it was support for someone they have watched fight through one of the most challenging periods of her life.

So Keep going. Keep believing. Keep fighting for what is yours. One day you’ll look back and realize that your toughest moments revealed your greatest strength.

UWA to open a regional zoo in Eastern Uganda (UWEC–Mbale Zoo)

UWA has begun relocating wildlife to Uganda’s first regional satellite zoo in Mbale. So far, lions, a zebra, a waterbuck, an ostrich, and peacocks are thriving in their new home.

The project will bring wildlife conservation and education closer to communities across Eastern Uganda.

Looking forward to the official opening on 12th June 2026.
