You see those barrack rifles that are not kept in the arm store
The one that some soldiers used to go and sign but nobody owns.
Then, one over zealous soldier comes along and decides to own this particular rifle making his colleagues feel bad.
Among the Nigerians you see in this video, there’s a very high chance you’ll find someone with a PhD, a scientist or researcher, a medical doctor, a successful businessman, a real estate mogul, an engineer, someone earning six figures, a practicing attorney, someone thriving in their career, someone with a beautiful family depending on them, and someone with an amazing wife and kids waiting for them to return home safely.
You don’t throw all of that away over a confrontation with someone who probably has never traveled outside his country, doesn’t know what it means to build a family, and may have far less to lose.
Even if you confronted me like this in my own country, Nigeria, I’d walk away. I have too much to lose. I’ll soon have a PhD I spent half a decade pursuing. I have a wonderful and amazing wife and an adorable child. I have parents and siblings who can’t go a week without hearing my voice.
I’ve spent my entire life building the foundation for the next 40 years, and I won’t let all of that slip away because of some random dude.
Walking away is not a sign of weakness. There are a thousand and one things that could go wrong in a situation like that if it isn’t handled properly. They chose restraint, and they handled it well.
