On Friday, 24 July, we joined @CentenaryBank in Sheema District to engage women entrepreneurs, local leaders and Members of Parliament on the GROW Project’s progress, achievements and opportunities for women-led businesses. #GROWProjectUg
The engagement was graced by Hon. Adrine Katusiime Mwebesa, Woman MP for Sheema District. Through beneficiary success stories, participants reflected on the GROW Project’s milestones and explored solutions to challenges affecting access to financing. #GROWProjectUg

The GROW Project Coordinators at @Mglsd_UG and @PSF_Uganda , Mr. John Ssengendo and Dr. Ruth Aisha Kasolo, reaffirmed their commitment to women’s economic empowerment and urged beneficiaries to use the financing to grow businesses, create jobs and strengthen household incomes.
We have officially launched the GROW Project in Butambala, unlocking over UGX 5 billion in affordable financing for women entrepreneurs. The initiative is implemented by the @Mglsd_UG and @PSF_Uganda , in partnership with Kyaddondo CBS PEWOSA SACCO @cbspewosa . #GROWProjectUg
The launch was officiated by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, who urged women entrepreneurs in Butambala to make productive use of GROW financing to expand their businesses, improve their livelihoods and contribute to their communities’ economic development.
Ms. Kisakye a businesswoman engaged in both cosmetics trade and poultry farming accessed a GROW loan to expand and finance her enterprises. The increased capital enhanced business operations, boosted sales and created employment opportunities for additional workers.
From the GROW Loan Financing Facility, Ms. Sylvia has significantly boosted sales in her agent banking business, this leading to expansion and the creation of additional employment opportunities through hiring of more workers.

From the GROW loan, Ms. Florence accessed additional capital that enabled her to expand her mattress business by opening more outlets, increasing stock levels and boosting sales. This also improved her household income.

Through the GROW Financing Facility, Ms. Rose accessed a loan that enabled her to complete the construction of her rental units. Upon completion, the units were occupied by tenants, resulting in increased rental income and improved business profitability.

From the GROW Loan, Ms. Sanyu expanded her livestock enterprise by purchasing additional cows and improving grazing land management. This increased productivity and profitability, strengthening her household income and enabling her to better support her family’s needs.
Through the GROW Project financing facility, Ms. Ketra a businesswoman engaged in produce trading accessed a low-interest loan that significantly strengthened her enterprise. This enabled her to increase working capital, expand stock volumes and improve business operations.
From the GROW Project, Ms. Joyce accessed a loan that enabled her to expand and strengthen her poultry farming enterprise. This boosted her working capital, improved farm operations, and increased production capacity, contributing to improved economic resilience.
Through the GROW Project, women entrepreneurs like Ms. Kisanet strengthen their financial management and business growth capacities through targeted trainings in financial literacy, bookkeeping, and branding.
This positions their enterprises to compete on international markets.
Through the GROW Project, women like Ms. Safina from Kapeeka have gained access to targeted high-impact training in business development, equipping them with practical skills to strengthen and expand their enterprises as well as enhancing their economic resilience.
The GROW Project highlights the transformative power of women in driving social and economic progress. When women speak confidently, plan and make decisions about their businesses and resources, they are positioned as active leaders within their households and communities.
Accessing the GROW loan at a concessional (low) interest rate, Ms. Jennifer from Bugiri was able to increase her capital base, which in turn facilitated the expansion of her business through the establishment of additional structures.
