Consistent saving helps you prepare for school fees, emergencies, business opportunities, and future goals without relying on loans or selling assets.

Yesterday @UgafodeMDI participated in the 3rd Edition of the Women in Banking and Finance Conference organized by @ibfsUg held at Mestil Hotel Kampala under the theme: โGive to Gain: Investing in Women, Transforming Finance.โ
Our women leaders were part of the hundreds of women attending the conference.
The conference brought together leaders from the banking, financial services, development, and corporate sectors to discuss how investing in women can strengthen institutions, families, businesses, and economies.
Key discussions focused on mentorship, women leadership, financial inclusion, ethical leadership, succession planning, women entrepreneurship, and creating practical opportunities for women to grow and lead.
One of the key highlights came from Rtn. Christine Kyeyune Kawooya, who reminded women that: โInvesting in women is not charity. It is strategy.โ She emphasized that leadership is not about titles, but about the impact leaders create in the lives of others. She also encouraged women to continuously invest in themselves through professionalism, integrity, confidence, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
Serena Abiri from the World Bank #GROWProject highlighted the importance of financial inclusion and women entrepreneurship, noting that: โWomen entrepreneurs are not high-risk. They are high-potential market builders.โ
Mona Muguma Ssebuliba encouraged institutions to move beyond conversations and take practical action in supporting women through financing, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
Other speakers echoed this call, urging institutions to intentionally create policies, leadership pipelines, financing opportunities, mentorship programs, and supportive work environments that empower women to thrive.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of women investing in themselves through continuous learning, professionalism, confidence, integrity, financial discipline, and supporting other women to rise.
Leaders emphasized that when women are trusted, mentored, and given access to opportunities, entire households, businesses, and communities benefit.
At UGAFODE, we remain committed to advancing financial inclusion and supporting women through accessible financial services, entrepreneurship support, leadership opportunities, and community empowerment initiatives that create lasting impact across Uganda.

The strongest, most lasting drive you have doesnโt come from outside rewards, pressure, or other people; it comes from your own values, curiosity, and sense of purpose.
When motivation comes from within, youโre doing it because you chose it, not because someone told you to. That sense of ownership makes you more willing to push through boredom, failure, and setbacks.
