"We can't build our own Meta."
Why not?
China built Alibaba. India built UPI. Nigeria has 200M people, the youngest population in the world, and devs competing globally.
The only real barrier? Believing we can't.
Build for Africa first. The world will catch up. π³π¬

@thereallgame Posts like this frame women as not being able to think logically. But that's simply not true. They are smart risk averse, selfish-interest-manipulating experts. Most of their drama is often a mask. The intent is for another outcome in mind, not one you'd expect from the drama
Most times I surprise myself... Like, I literally get shocked by what I do. Now I realize it's never been me. It's been God taking control of the situation. π€π€
Many Nigerian young men are losing it.
This will bite in 10 years
Ask anyone who is hiring or who has a business that hires, Nigerian young women are the most cracked these days
Put out a Job opening and in 5 hours its 80% women applying and 20% men applying
The young men in Nigeria think they can ignore the build process into a GLE, GLK life sustainably.
I guess all the "women are the spark" "Feminine Power" seminars from 15 - 20 years ago is beginning to pay off because the focus young women bring to the table these days is exceptional
Yes there are still many young men thriving and striving to build but the percentage that's pushing for fast money is alarming.
- Young man finishes university. Refuses to start a job because "how long 150k salary go buy GLE"
- Young man shuns entry level experience and starts doing betting or fraud or "Forex"
- Young girl starts working after university regardless
- 10 years later, One has 10 solid years experience and can lead in the industry while the other is still GLEing

Gen Z in the workplace is not what corporate expected.
Honestly, I am completely here for it.
Let me tell you about Gen Z in the workplace because corporate thought they were getting another generation of obedient workers, and they got chaos agents instead.
Corporate says we need you back in the office for collaboration. Gen Z is like, I collaborate fine from my house. Thank you, though.
Corporate says dress code is business casual, and Gen Z shows up in Crocs and hoodies and says this is business casual, and it is 2026.
Corporate says we need this by the end of today, and Gen Z says, no, you donβt. You donβt need it until next Tuesday because I checked the deadline, so stop lying.
Corporate says can you work late tonight, and Gen Z is like, yeah, I can, but I wonβt because I have therapy at 5, and unlike you, I actually go.
Corporate says where do you see yourself in five years, and Gen Z is like, not here. Next question.
And here is the thing, Gen Z workplace behavior is driving HR absolutely insane.
But you know what they are doing?
They are saying out loud what the older generation has been thinking for 30 years.
They just donβt care about the consequences yet. And honestly, good for them.
Corporate spent decades convincing the older generation loyalty matters. Gen Z showed up and said prove it.
And corporate canβt, so now they are scrambling.
Why donβt they want to stay? Why donβt they care about the company culture? Why are they so entitled?
They are not entitled. They just watched the older generation get laid off after 20 years of loyalty and said, yep, I am not doing that.
Gen Z workplace energy is exactly what corporate deserves.
Building something for Nigerian developers that I wish existed.
