Base changed my life.

It changed my life in two ways.
I care deeply about having positive impact on people’s lives. Not through broad donations to charities, but rather very direct impact.

Base, and more directly $TOSHI allowed me to do that.

I’ve worked with over 30 teams over the past 4 years, and often was very disappointed by the lack of their effort or stamina, especially those in memes.

So here I was, August 2023, with a project in front of me with all the potential in the world to make it big, yet no path to execution.

There were a few people who wanted to save the project, so I joined them, only for almost all of them to turn around and disappear as soon as they saw someone else (me) doing “their” job.

I decided to persevere, even though Base was dead at the time.
We had no support from the broader Base team. Getting a 15 min call once every few months was all we could get, and oftentimes those calls were cut short as there was a hard stop, but the counterparty joined late.

Base was in building mode. @jessepollak always replied to DMs, always helped us get in touch with projects, so we decided that it was time to go in building mode as well.

This allowed us to focus on the community, to focus on building as a family, no rush, no worries, no volume lol.

I won’t bore you with the months that followed, that saw us become the clear leading token on Base at that time, saw us doing incredible volume.

What I will say is this;
Through the efforts put into Toshi, we managed to change 10s if not 100s of lives for the better. We helped some people pay off loans, mortgages, become millionaires.
The stories I have received from community members in 2024 can only be described as “our efforts were worth it”.

Finally my hard work had paid off and positively impacted many lives.

To this day I have not profited a penny from Toshi, I am down money, Toshi owes me 12E. That’s fine as it doesn’t matter. Money is not the goal. Being a positive force in an industry rife with negative press is the goal.
As time progresses, that will become more and more appreciated.

The other way Base has changed my life;
Through my continuous and unwavering efforts, others took notice.

I got to know the founders of many blockchains, infra projects, CEX BD/listing teams and managed to build relationships based on trust.
This came quite easily for me, as they all saw me putting in hard work without an expected outcome other than collective success.

In working with over 10 very high quality projects, I made money, but way more important; I managed to build the network I could only dream of.

In a year or a few years I will need to write it all down so I can one day tell my son how I did all of that for him, to be able to spend every minute that I’d like with him.

@jessepollak you catch a lot of flack, and sorry to say sometimes rightfully so, but I am eternally grateful to you and the @base team, as your efforts led to a positive change to my life thst you’ll never understand.

$TOSHI fam, I love you all. Through hard work, honesty, caring and sticking together, we will be one of the memes to remember.
