#FunFactFriday The Hello Walk earned its name in 1920 from U of I President Alfred Upham.
Upham always encouraged students, faculty & staff to say "hello" to one another when meeting on campus. He himself practiced this rule as he walked to his office on the Hello Walk every day.
Meet GSSP student Timi, who began his studies this January 2019. The U of I has one of only 18 PGA Golf Management Programs in the USA and Timi looks forward to taking the skills he learns back to Nigeria to help grow the game of golf in his country.

#FunFactFriday Who is Joe Vandal? The U of I became associated with the name in 1917, when a sports reporter for the Argonaut described the basketball team so competitive that they โVandalizedโ the opposing team. The nickname stuck and represents the U of Iโs competitive spirit.
