Hi everyone, ive been away for a while. I had some personal issues and health concerns. Im feeling a bit better these days, and am looking to get back into it. If i havent messaged you in a while, again sorry, i was out for the past month or so.
@BigHootchie It depends, knowing anatomy helped me a lot, the tools arent that hard to learn tho, it takes a bit of getting used to it, the workflow ect
@jj_corner Really it's true what they say, art is a closed book, everything is already made, whatever concept you can think of, some dead artist already perfected, and it's great when you see that and are able to learn from them.
@jj_corner I started thinking more about color and tone variation, also made me use more reference. I realised how important it is to use refs, and how realism and values can affect the whole piece. Also how important it is to pay attention to each stroke.
@akaiblade I do. I used a scene from a movie for this one, it helps a lot with planing out the scene and values. Generally im trying to use more reference.
@Superbusty2 It depends on what you're looking for, i did a bunch, howard pyle, nikolai fenchin, monticelli, ect. I draw like a painter, one layer, just add paint untill it looks good, so learning how they thought about art, and how they painted was really eye opening
