We preserve and strengthen the quality of Jewish life in Greater Toronto, Canada, Israel and around the world through philanthropic and professional leadership.
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 Today, we celebrate the rich diversity, stories, and communities that make Canada such a special place. Canadian Jews have been an important part of this country’s history and continue to contribute to its vibrant future.
We’re proud to call Canada home and to celebrate our shared Canadian identity. Wishing everyone a joyful and festive Canada Day! 🍁
This weekend, more than 60 business and community leaders from across Canada have sent a clear message: antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem; it is a threat to all Canadians, and confronting it requires everyone to act.
We commend their leadership and their call for all Canadians to join our fight.
Read the letter and share it widely. Every Canadian who speaks out makes the extremists weaker and our country stronger.

CIJA CEO @nshack has a message for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights ahead of their controversial 'Nakba' exhibit opening this weekend: this museum is being hijacked by a small group of extremists driving a one-sided political agenda aimed at driving people apart. "We shouldn't be standing for it."
A national museum founded with the support of Jewish community leaders is opening a controversial "Nakba" exhibit developed without transparency and with the involvement of activists who have described the core of Jewish identity as "a disease to be destroyed."
Taxpayer-funded institutions should unite Canadians—not import foreign conflicts or deepen division.
Urge the government to hold the museum's leadership accountable:

We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of 20-year-old Toronto-area resident Elad Naidik z”l, who was among three people killed when a small training aircraft crashed near Bowie, Maryland, on Saturday night.
According to those who knew him, Elad was pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot and had enrolled in flight school in the Washington, D.C. area. Rabbi Chezky Deren of Chabad of Maple, who served as a mentor to Elad, shared that he had visited his Ontario community just days before the tragedy, excitedly speaking about his progress in aviation.
Elad was travelling with pilot Yoav Bomrind, 26, and David Rabinovich, 19, both from Israel. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
May Elad’s memory, and the memories of Yoav and David, be for a blessing.
The incident in Montreal has been contained by local law enforcement and no longer poses a threat. At this stage, the Jewish community does not appear to have been the target.
All GTA Jewish institutions may return to routine operations. JSN continues to encourage vigilance and asks that any incidents or concerns be reported to the JSN 24/7 Security Operations Centre at 437-222-3999.
We are aware of an active shooter situation in a Jewish area in Montreal. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are in touch with local police. At this time, there is no known information that this is directed at the Jewish community.
Should anything change that impacts the Toronto Jewish community we will update accordingly.
Happy Father’s Day, Jewish Toronto! We’re sending love and gratitude to all the amazing dads, grandfathers, and father figures who inspire and guide our community every day.
Thank you for passing down traditions, strengthening Jewish life, and helping shape our community for generations to come. Wishing you a wonderful Father’s Day! 💙
Today’s Toronto Police Service update should concern every Canadian. Police described a pattern in which criminals-for-hire are being recruited to carry out attacks, including shootings at synagogues and Jewish schools, with the goal of spreading fear and intimidation.
This comes at a time when extremists at home and foreign actors abroad have weaponized events in the Middle East to fuel hatred and violence against Canadians.
The perpetrators of these shootings and those directing these attacks on Canadian soil must be held accountable. This is a matter of safeguarding Canada's national security and our Canadian way of life.
Following the tragic loss of Toronto Police Constable Marc Pinizzotto in the line of duty, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), and Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) invite you to share a memory, message, or tribute in his honour.
Your words will be shared with Marc’s family and help celebrate the life, service, and legacy of a man who touched so many lives.

Our deepest condolences go out to Cst. Marc Pinizzotto's family and colleagues at the Toronto Police Service. Words cannot express the devastation being felt today.
This is a heartbreaking reminder that police officers put their lives on the line every single day to keep our communities safe.
May his memory be for a blessing.
Yesterday, more than 60,000 people came together for the 57th Walk with Israel.
Families, friends, students, seniors, children, allies, volunteers, community leaders, and supporters from across the GTA and beyond filled the streets with pride, hope, and an unwavering commitment to one another.
At a time when our community faces extraordinary challenges, this day was a powerful reminder of who we are: resilient, united, and stronger together.
To every person who walked, volunteered, donated, sponsored, performed, cheered from the sidelines, or helped make this day possible—thank you. Your presence mattered.
The Walk has always been about more than the distance we travel. It's about the bonds that connect us, the values we share, and the future we are building together.
As we reflect on an unforgettable day, our hearts are full—with gratitude, pride, and hope.
Thank you, Toronto. 💙
A heartfelt thank you to the Jewish Security Network (JSN), Toronto Police Service, emergency services, security personnel, and community partners who helped keep the 2026 Walk with Israel safe and secure.
Through your dedication, coordination, and commitment, our community was able to gather proudly and confidently for this important day.
Thank you for standing with us and helping make the Walk a success.
As millions of Israelis take shelter tonight following Iran’s missile attacks and new emergency restrictions across the country, we are reminded that Israel continues to face very real threats.
We condemn this attack on Israeli civilians and stand in solidarity with the people of Israel.
Earlier today, 60,000 people came together at the Walk with Israel in a powerful demonstration of pride, unity, and support. Tonight, that support feels more important than ever.
The events unfolding in Israel are a reminder that our connection to Israel is not symbolic—it is personal. When Israelis face uncertainty and danger, our community stands with them.
Our allies remind us that we’re not alone.
To all our allies who stood with the Toronto Jewish community at UJA’s Walk with Israel today: thank you. Your presence, support, and solidarity mean the world to our community.
We’re stronger together when we stand up for our shared Canadian values.
Tomorrow We Walk! 💙
See you tomorrow morning for the 2026 Walk with Israel! We can’t wait to see our community, families, friends, and allies come together.

On Sunday, TPS will be present to support public safety, manage traffic and crowds, and allow us to respond quickly to any incidents or concerns.
As police, it is our duty to enforce the law. Obstructing police officers is a criminal offense.
Please follow instructions from police, who are there to keep everyone safe.
