Implement these once and text generation stops being a black box:

- Greedy decoding, always take the highest probability token
- Temperature scaling, divide logits before softmax to flatten or sharpen the distribution
- Top-k sampling, restrict to the k highest probability tokens before sampling
- Top-p (nucleus) sampling, restrict to the smallest set of tokens whose cumulative probability crosses p
- Repetition penalty, downweight tokens that already showed up in the generated sequence
- Beam search, track several candidate sequences and keep the highest scoring ones at each step
- KV cache, reuse past key and value projections so each new token doesn't recompute attention over the whole sequence from scratch

what i learned:
- audio callbacks are real-time threads.
- phase vocoders drag formants along = chipmunk voice
- rubber band's formant preservation is what makes it sound like a person
