Based on published cohort data, competitive bodybuilders (particularly post-steroid era) have an approximately 34% higher death rate than age-matched general population males, with average age at death clustering around 45–48 years compared to the mid-to-late 70s in the general population.
At a place thousands of kilometers away from India, the Mahatma smiles.
A name so big that, for hundreds of millions, the only thing they know about India is Mahatma Gandhi.
All the hate thrown at him by his own people still falls short before his grand stature.
Gandhi ♥️🙏🏽
Good morning! I was interviewed by Dr. Paul Smith, the Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Doctor to discuss my role as a critic of alternative medicine in India, my efforts against pseudoscience and unscientific practices, and my involvement in the recent retraction of a homeopathy study by the European Journal of Pediatrics.
The full interview is only subscription based, available for registered Australian health practitioners at this link:

But here are few core excerpts from the interview for you. Hope you like it.
Many people in the comment section saying its the hospital's fault for not providing the ambulance. Yes, this is valid. But most lower-tier hospitals are just shacks with incompetent doctors and business-seeking management.
But just take a step back and think. It is our failure as a society and as human beings. Anyone could have quickly driven the man to a nearby hospital when the wife pleaded on the road. So many vehicles passing by.
I see many deaths in my clinical practice and the only thing that comforts the family is that they did everything they could to beat the odds. Can you imagine what the woman would go through, the rest of her life? Everything will be so dark.
We have to strive to be a humane society. A humanism-based society. Who will help us, if we dont help each other?
BREAKING ⚠️
40 more days of parole for rape-murder convict Dera chief Gurmeet Singh, 3 months after his last parole.
That’s 91 days out of jail just this year so far. That’s 366 days out of jail total.
Shame on the Courts, shame on the Govt.
Not sure why everyone is getting so emotional.
It's very simple if you set aside your feelings for a while and think rationally.
Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Siddha, Cosmetology, Physiotherapy, Clinical Nutrition, Reiki, Energy Healing, Yoga, Acupuncture, and Clinical Pharmacology practitioners are not doctors.
National Doctors' Day is a day celebrated to recognize the contributions of physicians in India, to individual lives and communities in memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, physician and the first Chief Minister of West Bengal.
The above are not Physicians/ Clinical Doctors
That doesn't mean quacks cannot celebrate their practices. They can.
National Ayurveda Day, is observed on 28 October every year in India and worldwide on the occasion of the birthday of Dhanvantari, the Hindu god of medicine. Ayurveda is a pseudoscience and that's why it is celebrated on beliefs and not evidence.
World Homoeopathy Day is observed every year on April 10 to commemorate the birthday of Samuel Hahneman who invented the nonsense.
National Beautician's Day is celebrated on June 26th each year. It's a day to appreciate and acknowledge the work of cosmetologists, stylists, and beauticians. Saloons give free beauty packages during this time.
World Physical Therapy Day is observed to generate awareness about the crucial contribution physiotherapists make to society, enabling people to be mobile, well, and independent. This is observed on 8 September.
Now in future anyone wants to celebrate Doctors Day, make sure you are a doctor first. For others, there are specific days where you can celebrate yourself or your family.
Now please stop crying. It's embarrassing.
Just want to end with this, because tomorrow is a brand new day and there are bigger matters to move on to and greater things to do.
In India,
Speaking facts = Rude
Speaking truth = Arrogant
Being rational = Unprofessional
Being logical = Defaming
Breaking myths = Anti national
Disrupting dogmas = Bad character
The same people who are shouting that I bullied a chess player's family by calling out their professions as non clinical/ quackery (a fact) are the same ones bullying my family by calling me an organ trafficker's son and dragging my parents into it, based on a baseless report written years ago by a right wing magazine. I was still a medical student then and never worked in the hospital. This allegation and accusation was never proven and was stayed by The High Court of Kerala. This part is conveniently ignored by my bullies: https://t.co/3fqMabpBM0
The person (a jobless retired doctor) who made that allegation was served a show cause notice for promoting propaganda against organ donation in Kerala by the DME. He has since stopped maligning and defaming the transplant medical community. This part is also conveniently ignored by my bullies:

I understand this is all part of the game that I did not bargain for, but I expect. Stakeholders who will get affected by my truth telling will come in various shapes and sizes to denigrate me and beat me down. Every attempt at breaking myths and disrupting dogmatic views comes at great cost and I am ok in dealing with it. Because no other doctor would. I give back as good as I get. Call me an organ trafficker's son, abuse my family, harass me all you want. Your allegations are farts in the wind tunnel and my words will stand.
And I will continue my science communications, correcting health misinformation and educating people on developing critical thinking skills...and fight pseudoscience and unscientific practices plaguing this country, to help us all make progress, because unlike you, I love my country.
In general, my critics on Twitter are conspiracy theorists, nutrition coaches who sell supplements, Yoga practitioners calling themselves movement coaches, Ayurveda loving mens activists and boomer uncles without scientific temper and WhatsApp degrees.
I think I deserve better critics.
COME ON!
