Democracy is NOT an outcome - the result of a vote! Democracy is an ongoing process! Retweeting the best, most embarrassing and most appalling tweets. #FBPE
Yes, if you want to legitimize the result of a referendum intended to be legally binding you must run it as a legally binding referendum - with a requirement for a super-majority. Anything else is illegitimate!
@BBCNWT@Sandbach Absolutely the right thing to do. But, any new vote must be free of foreign interference and money. It must also require the supermajority that the first one was missing. Nice one @Sandbach
I am elected to act in what I believe is in the best interests of my constituents. I have had the whip taken away from me. However there are critical times when you have to do what is right, no matter what the personal consequences. It is hard I won't pretend it isn't.
@DamianGreen Dear Damian, This is absolute codswallop & you know it . Proroguing parliament is the hallmark of a dictator. Parliamentary sovereignty is key to a functioning democracy. Plus of course scrutiny. How can you push this angle ?Stand up for our constitution!

@Channel4News@krishgm Stop arguing with the child. The audience is grown up and your airtime is valuable. Cut liars off immediately and offer your audience something befitting of your value. If these arseholea don't want the airtime find people who respect the audience with truth.
A huge congratulations to all the activists in Beaconsfield who turned out to encourage Dominic Grieve to join @TheIndGroup . May you be increasingly successful at shooting yourself in your foot!
BREAKING | Dominic Grieve has lost his confidence motion: 182 to 131.
A huge congratulations to all the activists in Beaconsfield who turned out for tonight's packed AGM and made a difference.
If you can downplay the wishes of the most significant petition in the UK Parliaments' Petiiton websites' history it somewhat brings into question the credibility of the whole site and any pretence that any petition is worth conducting. It's an insult to democracy and the people
The Government has agreed to give ยฃ20 million of tax payers money to test alternative arrangements to the #Brexit backstop (ie chase unicorns) whilst refusing to give our police an extra ยฃ15 million to tackle the knife crime crisis (ie save lives) #disgraceful@TheIndGroup
I.e. Remainers negotiating with partners to try and repair the damage caused by @LeaveEUOfficial colluding with Russia in their bid to undermine all western democracies. We call this treason!
Anti-democrat Dominic Grieve will meet with Macron's team to discuss a lengthy Article 50 extension which allows for a second referendum.
Remainers colluding with a foreign power over how best to undermine British democracy... They're not even trying to be subtle now!
You continue to miss the point. Flying me, a British politician, out to speak for citizens of a continent I have never lived on is more of the same patronising fluff. Please invite an African filmmaker, celebrity, farmer, teacher or businessperson to make a film in my place.
If as reported the PM is going to pull this weeks vote it would breach a solumn undertaking made at the dispatch box and would be an act showing utter contempt of Parliament
@LeaveEUOfficial There is no https://t.co/DCK9rBrCRU political party! Where are your democratically elected MPs? How do we get to deselect that which does not exist? Who voted for you? Where is your democratic mandate to interfere in UK democracy with the blessing of your Russian bum-chums?
