Great Wolf Lodge Update-
The more we learn about the Harrison family’s final weeks, the more questions this case brings.
Metallica Rose Harrison (27) is accused of stabbing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, Tristan, to death inside their room at Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania on October 12.
Now we are learning what was happening BEFORE the murders. Let me try to break it all down somehow.
The Money:
According to Metallica’s stepmother, April Thetga, the family had tapped into Charles’s 401(k) retirement savings to pay for their extended stay at the resort and other expenses, including a planned kitchen remodel. 🫣
Thetga reportedly found the decision unusual but said relatives didn’t realize anything was wrong.
It’s unclear how much money was taken or whether it was a withdrawal or loan.
The Family Home:
Investigators discovered that electricity had been shut off at the family’s Towanda residence.
A local lawn care company also reported not seeing the family for approximately a month.
The Harrisons checked into Great Wolf Lodge on September 21, extended their reservation on October 5, and were scheduled to check out October 13.
Were they staying at the resort because their home had no electricity? That hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s certainly a question worth asking.
Final Night:
According to the criminal complaint, surveillance footage showed Metallica and Charles visiting the resort’s arcade together late Sunday evening.
They returned to their room at approximately 11:22pm. Investigators documented no further door activity afterward.
The following afternoon, Metallica called 911.
She allegedly told dispatchers that her husband and son were already dead and said she needed help dying. 🤨
Police found Charles and Tristan deceased on separate mattresses on the floor. Charles had multiple apparent stab wounds to his chest. Tristan had one.
Investigators recovered two knives and several bottles of medication from the room.
What The Family Says:
The family had a video call with relatives the day before the killings, and nothing appeared obviously wrong.
Relatives have described Charles as a loving husband and father.
Now they’re trying to understand how a family getaway ended in such an unimaginable tragedy.
There are still so many unanswered questions.
Why was the electricity disconnected? What was the family’s financial situation? What was supposed to happen when they checked out on October 13?
And most importantly, what happened inside that room?
Investigators have not established a motive.
Charles and little Tristan deserved to come home. Instead, their family is left searching for answers. 💔

The mother who allegedly murdered her husband and 3-year-old son at Great Wolf Lodge drained the husband’s 401(k) to pay for the three-week trip, according to the New York Post.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, is accused of using her husband's retirement money to pay for the trip, which was reportedly an early Christmas present for her child, and a new kitchen remodel.
"It was definitely odd, but they’d taken their 401(k) out… There was nothing we could do about that," the stepmom of Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, said to the NYP.
The stepmother, April Thetga, said that the murder weapon, a set of knives, was allegedly brought from their home.
"I was told the knives came from her home. Her house. So to me, it was planned," Thetga told the outlet.
It's unclear whether Harrison was inspired by Lindsay Clancy, but it's worth noting that the Clancy trial ended on September 4 and the family checked into the Great Wolf Lodge on September 21.
The Pennsylvania mother reportedly video-called family members hours before the slayings and was acting totally normal. She was happy and said she loved them very much.
The mother, who was an in-home caregiver, complained to police about how "hard" she worked to be the "best mother."
