Gratitude is not claiming all is well; rather, it is a hermeneutic, a way of interpreting the world through the lens of God’s goodness, allowing His goodness to become the interpretive key by which we understand all things.
Revd Dr Girma Bishaw @girma_bishaw
We loved hearing our author Girma Bishaw on BBC Radio 4 last Sunday, briefly discussing the transformative power of gratitude ✨
The Gratitude Way is available now on our website.
It was a privilege to speak briefly with Emily Buchanan this morning on BBC Radio 4.
One of the questions Emily asked was: 'What does gratitude have to say to the anger, frustration, and protest we are currently witnessing in Britain?'
By doing so, we can invite others into that shared culture without fear of exclusion. Gratitude moves us away from correcting what others have brought, and towards articulating what we are offering. By upholding, celebrating, and continually renewing a shared cultural “umbrella,”
We are excited to announce that Girma will be speaking on BBC Radio 4 this Sunday, 4th January at 7.10am, about gratitude and his first book, 'The Gratitude Way.'
Please tune in to listen if you can. 🎤
May you experience His presence, grace, and blessings even more deeply in 2026 as you continue to walk in a posture of gratitude.
Happy New Year to you all from the Gratitude Initiative team
End-of-Year Gratitude
As this year draws to a close, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.
First and always, gratitude to God—for the joy of knowing Him, and for surrounding me with brothers and sisters I could never deserve. I am deeply grateful for you all.
Thank you to everyone who read, shared, partnered, showed up, and walked alongside me on this journey. None of it is lost, and none of it is taken for granted.
Here is to gratitude lived out loud—and to all that is still unfolding.
🎁 THE MESSAGE WE CARRY 🎁
From God’s perspective:
✨ Every person has dignity.
✨ Every life has worth.
This is the message of Christmas.
🤍🎄 Merry Christmas 🎄🤍
From the Gratitude Initiative Team
🎄✨ THE MESSAGE OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas begins with something almost unbelievable:
God choosing to come close. The Word becoming flesh. God stepping into human life not from a distance, but fully, personally, vulnerably.
And in that moment, heaven spoke clearly:
📖 A LIFE SHAPED BY CHRIST 📖
Paul gave up every reason to find his worth in achievement or identity. He found his value not in what he earned, but in who he belonged to—in Christ.
