#UKHousingFast is social media campaign led by people living and working in social housing to support the much needed work done of food banks across the UK.
We started #UKHousingFast in 2014 to celebrate the diversity of people living and working in #UKHousing and to also raise awareness of the issue of food insecurity, and get more housing associations to raise donations for their local food banks.
Not sure if any of you still use Twitter, but by fate we bumped into one of our biggest supporters, the brilliant @RevRichardColes in Manchester! We chatted about #Housing2025, building 1.5M homes and why tackling poverty matters more than ever. Huge thanks for all your support!
The cost of living crisis is getting worse & the need for #foodbanks increasing & so we have teamed up with our @LYHAtweets colleagues for our joint #BringInATin campaign to help keep local food banks stocked as part of our #PlatinumJubilee activities. Start a local #BringInATin
‘Making a meal of being angry’ @Simplicitly sharing his honest thoughts about #UKHousingFast and making pledge to support the campaign back in 2014. Thank you Rob for all your support. https://t.co/HGVPlPEIK2
‘Do all the good you can, by all the means you can’ we initially got some flack for organising #UKHousingFast. @MichalaRudman soon won the critics over by highlighting what the campaign was about.

@ukhousingfast Thanks for sharing and each year it’s amazing how you appreciate what you have. It’s been even better this year as my daughters are now more aware and have tried to get involved to #Ramadan#CommsHeroRamadan#ukhousingfast
‘The joy if a simple meal’ our very first guest blog by our very first supporter @AsifChoudry - it’s great to see more organisations encouraging staff to get involved with Ramadan and raise funds for charities. How did #CommsHeroRamadan go @AsifChoudry?

This 🧵 touches my heart.
Am a bit deliriously poorly at the moment folks but will get straight onto this when I’m back at work. We try to support Food Prosperity year round now inspired by you and others. Big love to you all and remembering @roommyx ❤️

We also want take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported #UKHousingFast over the years. We will be re sharing some of our previous blogs over the coming days leading up to Eid next week.
We encourage housing associations to continue to support residents and communities in these difficult times by working with and supporting food charities, as well as directly helping customers through cash vouchers and grants for food, gas, electricity and other basics.
