Against long odds, a bipartisan group of 218 members of Congress did something rare: they forced H.R. 2913, the Ukraine Support Act, onto the House floor over the objections of the leadership. Now the final vote takes place TODAY.
Here's what H.R. 2913 does:
🇺🇦 Authorizes up to $8 billion in loans for Ukraine and NATO partners. This is not a blank check.
🛡️ Strengthens NATO's Eastern Flank through security assistance, training, and cybersecurity cooperation.
💰 Imposes sanctions targeting major Russian financial institutions, energy and mining sectors, Russian officials responsible for the war, and individuals involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children.
🚫 Expands export controls on dual-use technologies supporting Russian weapons production and addresses military cooperation involving Iran and North Korea.
🔧 Establishes mechanisms supporting reconstruction, humanitarian assistance, private-sector investment, food exports, and long-term economic resilience in Ukraine.
The discharge petition worked. Now Congress needs to finish the job. Tell your Representative: vote YES on H.R. 2913. Call them today or send a message using this form 👉 https://t.co/KFI4ApQqjc
Thank you, @RepDelBene, for your principled position and supporting Ukraine in such a dire time. Ukrainian American Community of WA 1st values your leadership and efforts.
Ukraine is fighting for its very survival every day against Putin’s war.
With bipartisan support, the House forced a vote & passed legislation that will put additional economic sanctions on Russia & provide security assistance to Ukraine in their fight to protect their democracy. I will continue to stand with our partner and ally.
President of Ukraine @ZelenskyyUa to Russian President Putin: “We must determine what kind of future awaits the generations of Ukrainians and Russians who will come after us.
If you do not personally come to the conclusion that it is time to end this war, Ukraine will continue fighting for its existence. We will have those who support us.
But you, too, will have to fight much harder for your own existence — not Russia’s, but your own. And this is not a threat from me or from Ukraine. It is a fact of Russian history that you know well: when Russia grows tired, change comes.
We can work toward that fatigue.
You can stop your war.
Eternal memory to all those whose lives were taken by this war”

Majority of Americans support Ukraine. Congress must be allowed to vote on HR 2913 Ukraine Support Act and represent the will of the people. All eyes on the House tomorrow as it votes on the bill that aids 🇺🇦 w/ security & reconstruction & imposes sanctions to pressure 🇷🇺 to stop
@RepAdamSmith Thank you, Congressman Smith, for your principled leadership and longstanding support of Ukraine’s fight to preserve its democratic future.
Thank you, @RepBaumgartner for calling for the return of abducted Ukrainian children. No agreement can move forward until they - all 20,000+ of them, are safely home.
Of all the terrible things Vladimir Putin has done to Ukraine, abducting 20,000 kids might be the worst. They must be returned. 🇺🇸

We appreciate @RepBaumgartner’s principled position. We don’t want our kids to fight in WW3 because Russia feels it won and is undeterred from launching another war. We don’t want abducted Ukrainian kids to be forced to fight their countrymen and us for Russia - a war crime.
The key US interest in Ukraine remains Vladimir Putin being unsuccessful in his attempts to rebirth an expansionist Russia that threatens military action across Western Europe (eg Poland & Balkans). Peace agreements are by nature difficult and require compromise, but it is essential that in any deal that Ukraine has both the geographic topography and strategic depth as well as a force structure capable of repelling any wide scale future Russian advance. The reports of a new US led peace agreement are positive if these conditions are met.
I don’t want my kids fighting in WW3. Somehow forcing Russia into a deal that makes its people feel that they lost the war is unrealistic given the facts on the ground, but they cannot feel like they won it either.
I salute President Trump’s ongoing efforts to bring the fighting in Ukraine to a close and to get our European allies to be more responsible actors for the defense of their own continent.
It remains abhorrent that Putin’s regime has kidnapped thousands of Ukrainian children and they must be returned.
🇺🇸
We appreciate @RepRickLarsen’s clear principled stand and his understanding of what’s at stake. The proposed plan is one-sided and rewards the aggressor. We urge all Members of Congress to speak out now.
@SenatorCantwell Senator, thank you for meeting with our representatives earlier this week and hearing our concerns. Russia must pay for the unjustifiable war it launched and the destruction it perpetrates. It's a no-brainer and "pure poetry" to use its state assets for rebuilding Ukraine. 🇺🇸🤝🇺🇦
We are grateful to @RepRickLarsen for his leadership at the @NATO Parliamentary Assembly. His newly adopted report @ #NATOPAljubljana exposes how PRC, DPRK, Iran & Belarus enable Russia’s war in Ukraine, stressing the need for lasting U.S. & NATO support. https://t.co/MC0rzaszBP
