By striking the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, one of the greatest holy sites of Christianity, Putin has forever put his name on the list of history’s worst barbarians.
He should be damned for centuries. And he will lose this war.
From the Horde in the 13th century to the Nazis and Bolsheviks in the 20th century, Kyiv’s sacred monasteries have suffered numerous barbarically attacks.
Now we are dealing with Russian terrorists who have already outmatched ISIS in their crimes against cultural heritage. Only Russian scum who have nothing sacred can deliberately damage the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a unique UNESCO heritage site under special protection.
We will be urgently initiating all relevant procedures within UNESCO and all other international mechanisms, demanding immediate and adequate responses to this state barbarism.
We expect strong reactions by international institutions and capitals. No vague words, silence, or weak steps. We need action now to stop Russian barbarism.
Thanks to @iocmedia, 🇺🇦 figure skater Kyrylo Marsak had to perform on the ice right after "neutral" Petr Gumennik, who in 2024 performed in 🇷🇺 in a military uniform and to a military song
But to IOC it wasn't a violation, even when rules prohibit association with military forces
#OTD in 1994, under the Budapest memorandum, Ukraine agreed to give up a huge stockpile of nuclear weapons in return for security assurances, primarily from Russia and the United States.
For the war to end, it's enough for the signatories to honour them.
Even in wartime, Ukraine proves that accountability doesn’t stop at the top. Its own institutions are truly independent and strong enough to go after those in power. Can’t imagine anything similar in Russia. That difference says everything.
Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, who is wanted by a court in The Hague for the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children, gave an interview in which she described how she kidnapped and adopted a Ukrainian child from Mariupol after the city was captured by the Russian army.
In the interview, she admitted that the boy, Filipp, whom she kidnapped in Mariupol, was Ukrainian, loved Ukraine, and did not want to move to Russia, but she effectively changed his identity, broke him, re-educated him, and made him Russian.
Russian authorities deny forcibly removing Ukrainian children, but a Russian official close to Putin has confirmed through her own experience that this is precisely what Russia is doing.
Here's your testimony for The Hague.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, UKRAINE 🇺🇦
34 years ago, we chose us.
All of us - East and West, Lviv and Kharkiv, Crimea and Donbas. We chose each other. Not division. We chose unity, identity, and the promise of a shared future.
Today marks our fourth Independence Day in the midst of full-scale war, and I celebrate it as a Ukrainian whose freedom was defended, not gifted.
To our defenders: this day exists because of you. Your courage is eternal, and so is our gratitude.
To everyone abroad who continues to stand with Ukraine from world leaders to ordinary people who carve out time in their busy lives to stay by our side - thank you.
Together we are unstoppable.
Together we will achieve peace.
🤬 Strikes on a residential building in Kharkiv were deliberate – five Russian kamikaze drones targeted it from different sides and struck precisely at people who were sleeping peacefully at 5 a.m., Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported.
This is pure terror. Terror that has no explanation or justification, he said.

Russians dropped an air bomb on the bus station in Zaporizhzhya.
There are many wounded, people are under the rubble.
Russian terror continues even during negotiations
Imagine your child is taken from school or home by a foreign army. You don’t know where they are. No phone call. No goodbye. Weeks later, you see their photo on a government-linked website — listed with a fake name, described like a product: “quiet,” “obedient,” “blue eyes.” Someone on the other side of the border is browsing, deciding whether to take them.
This isn’t a nightmare. This is the reality for thousands of Ukrainian families.
russia has created an online platform where users can “choose” Ukrainian children abducted from the occupied territories.
The so-called “catalog” allows filtering children by photo, gender, eye and hair color, and personality descriptions. Children are effectively being displayed as merchandise. This is not merely deportation — this is systematic human trafficking, bearing all the hallmarks of state-sanctioned digital slavery.
Such actions by the russian federation are a direct violation of international humanitarian law, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the Rome Statute. These are war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Once again, russia proves it is not merely a terrorist state. It operates as a state of human traffickers. In the 21st century.
The story that Russia killed a young pregnant woman simply because they could fades already.
Only a few European countries trying to stop Russia for real, while most hope that everything will resolve itself. It's not. Either we stop Russia together, or Russia will come to you.
Kyiv is under massive drone attack. Make no mistake, this is Putin’s response to President Trump’s deadline. He is testing American resolve and strength. We must not be found wanting.
After this horrible night in Kyiv, here is just a brief overview of the current situation.
1Putin is a liar. He lied in 2014 that there were no Russian soldiers in Crimea. He lied in 2022 that he was not starting a full-scale invasion. He is lying in 2025 that he wants peace. Look not at words, but at actions. Putinʼs army continues to fight to occupy and destroy Ukraine and then move on further to Europe.
2The Trump administration has lifted sanctions on Rosoboronexport, Russia's main arms dealer, and halted air defence supplies to Ukraine. In response, Putin immediately increased his shelling of civilian cities. His army cannot win the war on the battlefield. Therefore, he is seeking to kill civilians and destroy civilian infrastructure across the country.
3‘Peace through strength’ means decisive actions. Let me explain it with my fingers. The aggressor attacked an independent country to take it over. The country that is attacked is fighting back. If you don't help that country repel the attack and at the same time do nothing to stop the aggressor's offensive, then in practice, you are helping the aggressor achieve its goal of occupying that country.
4Peace and occupation should not be confused. Occupation is not peace. Occupation is the same war, just in a different form. Occupation means torture, sexual violence, abduction of your children, destruction of your identity, filtration camps, and mass graves. We in Ukraine want peace, but not to be occupied by Russia.
5What is next? There is a good Russian proverb: ‘appetite grows while eating’. If the policy of the international community doesn't change, it will only lead to more deaths. How can you help? We need more missiles and air defences, tough sanctions against Russia. We must demonstrate strength. The phone calls don’t work.
First, there was a talk between Trump and Putin. Then came a heavy strike on Kyiv with drones and ballistic missiles, hitting residential areas.
No matter how some try to spin it, this doesn’t look like Trump’s idea of “peace through strength.” Putin makes Trump look docile
