“Why I Found TRACD - Revealed”
In 2018… everything changed.
The British government cruelly confiscated my little boy’s life-saving medicine, leaving him hospitalised in a prolonged life-threatening seizure.
Fighting for his life.
No warning.
No compassion.
No choice.
I was told to accept it. I refused.
I stood up.
I spoke out.
We took on the British government. Prescription cannabis was legalised.
We won.
But nearly eight years on that promise has not been delivered to you.
Only a handful of NHS prescriptions exist. If you need access today, you’re pushed into a private system.
Expensive.
Inconsistent.
And out of reach for many.
And while you’re left navigating that, the system is failing.
Weak oversight by the Home Office, causing-inconsistent quality supply. Overprescribing by some bad actors.
And beyond the prescription system there’s another cruel reality this government has ignored for far too long. A £2.6 billion unregulated market. 3 million people - people like you across the UK and Crown Dependencies.
This is your reality. This is your doorstep.
This affects you.
You have been stigmatised for too long.
Demand already exists. People like you are already participating. But you’re being pushed,
punished, criminalised into an unregulated, unsafe, market and that is a political choice.
They made the laws without you.
With TRACD you are now part of the conversation.
TRACD is your voice.
To stand with https://t.co/UBmdvI1w2J protect you. To put your health before politics and to create a safe legal pathway so you are no longer forced into the unregulated market.
TRACD is giving you your power back.
We are calling on governments across the UK
Jersey
Guernsey
The Isle of Man to act
for you. To support an adult-use regulated recreational pilot built on safety. Built on evidence.Built on accountability.
This pilot will deliver what politics has failed to. Real data. On your health. On your use.
On the real impact and on reducing the illicit trade that affects you.
With full oversight.
and a clear path to legislation.
From criminalised to recognised. This is your voice. This is about reducing harm for you.
Protecting you. No more stigma. No more criminalization.
We are building a system that works in your real world, regulated recreational adult use.
1000’s of voices - from every corner of the nation and British Crown Dependencies.
I have listened - Properly listened.
An enormous challenge? Yes!
But the evidence is clear.
The moment is now.
I won’t dress it up, this isn’t something I can do alone. If we’re serious about changing the system, it takes people, not just one voice.
It takes all of us stepping forward, backing this, speaking up, and demanding better. Together, we can build something real, a proper movement powered by ordinary people, gathering the evidence, showing the impact, and making the case for a regulated adult-use cannabis market that actually works.
That’s how change happens: not by waiting, but by standing together and pushing for it.

Absolutely! A legal supply has to earn people’s trust. Knowing what’s in each batch, how it was produced and being able to trace it matters enormously. It also helps researchers understand whether outcomes relate to the product, how people use it, or other factors. That’s exactly why consistent standards and transparent data need to sit at the heart of a research pilot.
Europe’s Cannabis Trials are Working 👏
Switzerland and the Netherlands are letting adults buy legal cannabis for research, and the early data is good news for public health

Absolutely. Patients need to know what they’re taking and have confidence that the next batch will meet the same standards. Clear labels, reliable batch testing and results people can actually access and understand should be basic expectations. When someone relies on a prescription to manage their condition, consistency is everything.
A confused public is easier to control.
When the language around this plant gets blurred, people can’t make informed choices and communities are left carrying the consequences.
Stewardship starts with clear education, honest standards, and keeping the people closest to the plant in the conversation.
Who should have the strongest voice in shaping the plant’s future?

The road beyond this plant on prescription must take us to a better place.
When I fought for Billy’s lifesaving medicine, I just wanted him safe and well, with a chance to live his life.
And when he changed the UK law, I honestly thought other patients would finally be able to breathe a little easier. That they wouldn’t have to fight quite so hard for help. Yet here we are, still talking about costs, access and whether someone’s medicine will be available next month. We need industry to do proper research and provide patients with a real route to NHS access. I wanted better for Billy, and I want better for them too.
But we also need an honest conversation about adult use. Surely a prescription shouldn’t be the only way we make room for this plant?
That’s why I’m pushing forward with TRACD: to explore a separate, carefully regulated adult-use pathway, test it properly and learn from the evidence.
I haven’t got every answer. But I do know we’ve come too far to stop asking how things could be better.
What would a better place look like for you?
Just look at Canada …. Since legalising this plant for adult use in 2018, it’s become one of the country’s biggest cash crops. Farm receipts went from $94.8 million in 2016 to over $3 billion in 2025. It’s now competing with soybeans and corn, bringing in more than durum wheat, barley, lentils and tobacco. Quite a change for a plant that once accounted for less than 1% of total farm receipts.

Profits made by Irish drugs gangs from cannabis now rival those from the cocaine trade, as criminals source it at low prices from countries where it has been legalised or laws relaxed.

“Just ban it” does sound tidy.
But does it actually solve anything, or simply sweep the plant under a rather crowded carpet?
TRACD wants a scientific adult-use pilot to test what regulation could change. What would you want it to find out?
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp - “If an officer can smell cannabis in the air, I expect them to take action: find out who's smoking it, arrest them and prosecute them"
Where’s the data that arresting every consumer improves outcomes? TRACD wants proper research before we reach for the handcuffs, please!

Apparently, being an adult means choosing your mortgage, your wine and your wallpaper, but the plant? Raised eyebrows! TRACD wants to explore regulated adult use. Where do you think personal choice should meet sensible safeguards?
Can I ask you all something?
If the Government introduced a regulated adult-use cannabis market in the UK, with age limits, quality testing would you support it?
I’m genuinely interested in what people think. No right or wrong answers, just an honest conversation.
Pop your thoughts in the comments. If it’s a yes, tell me why. If it’s a no, tell me what’s holding you back.
Let’s have an honest discussion. 👇
Perhaps the biggest myth of all is that the conversation has to be either “this plant is wonderful” or “this plant is terrible.”
It doesn’t.
We can simply have a sensible conversation about it.
Imagine that? #TRACD
