Iranian Derangement Syndrome (IDS)

Iranian Derangement Syndrome (IDS) is when some “pro-Palestine” and hard-left activists get so addicted to anti-West narratives that they end up excusing, laundering, or indirectly supporting the Islamic Republic, while attacking Iranians who demand freedom.

✅ 1) Treating mass killing as “disputed” because the victims are Iranian
When reports say 12,000+ were killed, IDS patients don’t ask “how can we help?”
They ask “who reported it?” as an excuse to dismiss it.

✅ 2) Calling an internet blackout “security” instead of concealment
IDS is framing internet shutdowns as “stability,” when it’s clearly how regimes hide atrocities.

✅ 3) Downplaying state violence even when live-fire is documented
People claim to oppose oppression, then go silent when IRGC/Basij are described firing on civilians.

✅ 4) Dodging blame even when the chain of command is obvious
When responsibility points upward, IDS response becomes: “We need more context.”
(Context = a permission slip to ignore Iranian deaths.)

✅ 5) Calling it “clashes” instead of organized massacre
IDS language always dilutes reality into vague words like “unrest,” even when it’s a nationwide slaughter.

✅ 6) Selective outrage. Mourning only for the “right” victims
If victims fit their ideology, they flood social media.
If victims are young Iranians being gunned down, the silence becomes a strategy.

✅ 7) Calling Iranian dissent “CIA/Mossad-backed” to protect the fantasy
Because admitting Iranians are fighting a dictatorship destroys the myth that the regime is “resistance.”

✅ 8) Turning “anti-imperialism” into obedience to mullah propaganda
“Anti-imperialist” becomes code for: repeat regime narratives, attack dissenters, smear exiles.

✅ 9) Discrediting witnesses, families, doctors, and reporting as propaganda
Even when accounts are cross-checked via eyewitnesses, families, medical links, officials.
IDS reaction: “fake news.”

✅ 10) Final stage collapse: “I don’t support the regime BUT…”
Then the excuse generator starts:
“but sanctions”
“but Israel”
“but the West”
“but geopolitics”

Meanwhile, the bodies pile up.
