These verses of Surah al-Waqiah describe the overwhelming reality of the Day of Resurrection.

Its arrival is certain, and no one will be able to deny or prevent it. On that Day, worldly ranks will be overturned: some will be lowered in humiliation, while others will be raised in honour.

The earth will shake violently, the mountains will be crushed, and everything that once appeared powerful and permanent will become scattered dust. Humanity will then be divided into three groups:

The people of the Right~ those who receive their records with their right hands and are granted salvation.

The people of the Left~ those who rejected Allah and face punishment.

The forerunners~ those who were foremost in faith, worship and righteous deeds. They will be brought nearest to Allah and admitted into the Gardens of Bliss.

These verses remind us that our true position will not be determined by wealth, status or reputation, but by faith and deeds. They encourage the believer not merely to seek salvation, but to strive to be among those who race toward Allah’s pleasure.
