There are lots of us who believe in the historical British Evangelical position of putting great value on seeing the image of God in all people; the old, the young, the slave, the sojourner in our midst. Shaftesbury, Wilberforce and others campaigned in that manner

It was always more of an American thing to downplay the Imago Dei doctrine because it didn't sit well with slavery. It's why American Evangelicals couldn't join the Evangelical Alliance in 1846

When we read scripture God's heart for the vulnerable and frail is clear, just look at Isaiah 58. Whether at the beginning of life, the end of life or the middle of life, our duty as Christians is to bring hope, love, good news to all.
