NFT Market Implosion??

It’s the age old “sellers have to run out of coins to find a bottom”. That’s kinda where the market is right now. It’s exposing who really wants to own a particular NFT and who doesn’t.

Once collections bottom and find people that want to hold them they can rebase. Some won’t because nobody does want to actually own it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

When a majority of people are long-term in a collection then healthy sales can happen when people want to turn over.

Example. Vast majority of people with a Mickey Mantle rookie card woke up today with no concern about its “floor” or thinking about dumping. But a few are always actively selling (for whatever reasons). The market will gladly absorb those. Some weeks/months/years the prices are lower but generally speaking very few people want to sell their ‘52 Mantle any given day.

Low sales do happen in solid assets in weak markets. I’ve made a living buying fear in good collectibles for decades. But that is when buyer pressure is low. And for good assets…during these weak times…seller count is also low. Supply is there. But low. There are always SOME that need/want to sell and when they do it at bad times. Well. That’s the market.

If instead. There was no pride in holding those Mantle rookies and everyone was really just hoping for a pump to get rich…well the slightest weakness could trigger cascades (like we are seeing across broader NFTs).

When compared to IRL art and collectibles the vast majority of NFTs are grossly overpriced. Even when you factor in global liquid markets. Just look at how many nice Pokémon cards sell for $50-$100. Or how many IRL artists sell for under $500. There are NFT collections run out of basements that have higher market caps (if assuming floor) than the entire supply of Michael Jordan rookie cards (a globally desired collectors market).

The market will find bottoms. Many will be close (if not literally) zero. And then they can grow. But for many of these projects the tops we saw won’t ever return (imo). They were totally irrational. Tulip type stuff.

Take s look at @LostMinersETH I’m sure we will have some sellers in conditions like these but if you want to align with real collectors that have a long term thesis here is your chance to buy some fear.

I’ve been trying to explain to the market how this holder base is cultivated differently (outside the P&D culture) but sometimes you need to see that play out in market conditions like these to realize the truth in what I’m saying.

We did a free claim. We had some degens. Most sold them for $25 long ago and they consolidated into our long minded collectors. Almost all of the whales are well known in @bpxcollect discord. If you really do have a long-term web 3 thesis. And want to be here for what comes next. Align with people that feel the same. Become a Lost Miner.
