What we do know is if we look at GDP per capita in even poor states it’s higher than places like the UK.

@newhandlehun It depends on the airline. There is no strict law against splitting up parents from kids, but there are EU guidelines to keep an adult with an under-12-year-old, due to safety issues.
I've never paid, and I've never had an issue, but I do see why people pay for peace of mind.
