At the end of the first quarter of every University of Iowa home football game, the entire stadium—including coaches, referees, and over 70,000 fans—pauses to turn and wave directly at the pediatric patients and families watching from the windows of the adjacent UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Known as the "Hawkeye Wave," this incredibly wholesome gesture has been widely celebrated as one of the best and most touching traditions in all of college sports.
