@HappyLKC_@FrazierKay Acting like it’ll become the new standard is extremely hopeful at absolute best. They can be great but you’ll never move the entire market in the way you describe.
@Nortier I find myself going to find cards I want for myself. Enjoy the atmosphere. People are usually cool and want to talk about the same things. Unfortunate that’s not how it goes for everyone.
@CreedRespector@rbkmustang I understand this to some extent on current sets. Expecting it of an almost 5 year old set is delusional.
Less sealed decreases availability which also increases pricing.
Why not just go buy another set?
@CreedRespector@rbkmustang I’m not sure what to take away from this.
You buy a pack. A pack has contents. Ignoring that you get x amount of cards for x dollars is crazy.
So if I buy a pallet of booster boxes does that mean the boxes don’t have individual value?
@UltraBallingTCG@rbkmustang If you hoard a bunch of singles or price it at 10x what other people are paying, you are not preventing people from getting their own sealed products to pull their own singles. It does not introduce artificial scarcity at large, only on that specif card if you somehow buy enough.
@CreedRespector@rbkmustang A single pack has an MSRP which can easily be broken down into a per card value. Ignoring that invalidates the central point of the argument. It’s all scale.
Allow people to participate as they see fit or participate on your own.
White knighting gets no one anywhere ever.
@CreedRespector@rbkmustang I don’t think that’s relevant to the specific situation. Nobody is 10x what others are paying. It’s a fantasy situation.
The idea that singles don’t have an MSRP and therefore are allowed to be priced at market is a stretch.
We can all convince ourselves we’re doing it “right”.
@HyperBooper@SakurasCardShop Context is forever important. I’d argue that blindly judging/complaining about scalpers on the internet almost always lacks context.
We don’t know if the guy buying all the ETB’s at Target is trying to cover their cost for worlds. They likely aren’t but we don’t know.
