But this is just what is happening when a society does not expect daughters to grow into women.

This is what female stoicism was like in ancient grece and the roman empire, things that eastern europe still majorly clings to.

A roman girl is taught that gentleness is not helplessness and that self command is a mark of adulthood. This means that complaining constantly, panicking publicly, humiliating one's household through uncontrolled anger, or collapsing under ordinary hardship would be considered immature.

This did not create a society of emotionless women. The ideal is probably closer to endurance combined with warmth: suffer without becoming cruel, manage the household when things go wrong, comfort frightened children, keep one's voice steady when the men are away, and do not make every inconvenience into a catastrophe.

How much of this is being tought in the west right now?
