Celebrating the Hausa Community and Its Contributions to Nigeria.

As International Hausa Day, I warmly congratulate the Hausa community across Nigeria as they observe their Day in Daura, Katsina State. The Hausa people have made significant and lasting contributions to the growth and development of our nation, enriching Nigeria through their culture, traditions, enterprise, agriculture, scholarship, public service, and dedication to community.

This celebration is not only a moment to honor a proud heritage but also an opportunity to reaffirm the bonds that unite us as Nigerians. Our diversity remains one of our greatest strengths, and our shared future depends on recognizing and respecting the contributions of every community.

As you celebrate in Katsina, I wish you peace, prosperity, and a renewed sense of hope. May this occasion bolster our unity and inspire us to build a Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of ethnicity or background, has equal opportunities to flourish.

We’ve secured this facility for ISEE in Enugu.

I have consistently continued to respectfully appeal to those in office today to prioritise reconstruction and maintenance of existing roads and other infrastructure over commencing new ones.

I left someone in Onitsha on Saturday night to take the first bus to Lagos on Sunday morning. Until I left Lagos at 8 pm yesterday, he had not arrived in Lagos. He only arrived in Lagos at about 2 pm today. A journey that usually takes a maximum of 8 hours now takes nearly two days.

This is not just about bad roads. It is about lost man-hours, stranded passengers sleeping on highways, wasted fuel, damaged vehicles, delayed goods, and businesses losing millions of naira.

Nigerians do not need new projects just for the headlines. We need functional roads that make life and economic activity possible.

A government must understand that infrastructure is not necessarily about the size of the project; it is about the number of lives and livelihoods it improves.

A new Nigeria is POSSIBLE, and Nigeria will be OK. -PO

The APC Campaign Council: Nigerians Deserve a New Direction

I have taken note of the recently constituted APC Presidential Campaign Council, whose composition offers Nigerians a clear picture of the choice before us in the 2027 general election.

The council brings together many of the same political actors who have supported, defended or participated in the present administration. Their coming together raises a fundamental question: what exactly are they asking Nigerians to vote for in 2027, a new beginning, or the continuation of the same system that has brought severe hardship to our people?

The truth is, I see the 2027 election as a struggle between the oppressed Nigerian masses and those who have benefited from, defended and sustained the system responsible for their hardship.

It is concerning to all well-meaning Nigerians whose across the country, their families are struggling with the rising cost of food and basic necessities. Young Nigerians face unemployment and diminishing opportunities. Farmers and businesses are struggling to survive, while millions continue to live with insecurity. Our education, healthcare and other essential public services remain under enormous pressure.

This ruling campaign structure presents another scenario between the oppressors and the oppressed. We must use it come 2027 election to reject continued oppression and demand accountable, people-centred governance. If Osun people can do it, so can all other parts of the country.

I particularly appeal to my brother, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, who has accepted to serve as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, to reflect deeply and reconsider accepting this responsibility.

As a former governor of Zamfara State and a prominent leader from the North-West, I believe Senator Yari has a clear understanding of the devastating consequences of insecurity, poverty, unemployment, displacement and the destruction of livelihoods in the region and the country at large.

I therefore will be surprised if in his good conscience, will lead a campaign whose principal objective is to secure the continuation of a government under which many of the people he once governed, and other innocent Nigerians remain trapped in these challenges?

There is also a serious institutional question concerning the inclusion of the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji, and the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Dr Tanimu Yakubu Kurfi, in the campaign’s fundraising and finance structures.

The leadership of critical public institutions demands neutrality, integrity and public confidence. It is therefore legitimate to ask whether the responsibilities of senior officials entrusted with managing public revenue and national finances can appropriately coexist with senior partisan campaign roles.

The government and the APC should explain how such arrangements are consistent with institutional neutrality and public trust.

I can see the future very clearly.

I see a South East where millions of children are no longer educated merely to pass examinations, but to build things the world will buy.

I see 13- and 14-year-olds building toys for Christmas, designing automated home systems, creating energy solutions, manufacturing electronics, solving security issues through technology and building drones in their hundreds of thousands to solve real African problems.

And then something extraordinary will happen: children will become creators of wealth before they are old enough to look for jobs. Some will become multimillionaires as teenagers, not from speculation, but from knowledge, engineering and solving real problems.

This is bigger than education.

We are laying the foundation for an industrial revolution.

We are raising a generation that will not look at technology and ask, “Where can we import this from?”

They will ask, “How can we build it ourselves?”

I can already feel this wave beginning. The energy is building. The mindset is changing. And once millions of young minds discover that mathematics, science and engineering give them the power to create, it will be incredibly difficult to stop them.

So I will say this now, while it is still early:

Start investing in the South East.

A generation of builders is coming.

And they are going to build things Africa has never seen before.

But the most amazing thing is if the user gets lost, the GPS tracking system can help locate where they are from anywhere, and then send the location to the phone of the person taking care of them via WhatsApp or Email 📲

And now I am further developing it to a new level of AI + Voice, so it can speak with the user and also help them understand their surroundings

Standing with the Victims of Insecurity in Benue

Yesterday, I travelled to Otukpo-Nobi in Benue State, one of the communities recently attacked by non-state actors, where over 10 persons were either killed or went missing. In contrast, several others were injured and are currently hospitalised.

Alongside Otukpo-Nobi was another community, Efeyi-Ugboju, where over 13 persons were reportedly killed and several others injured. While we were there, we were also informed that earlier in the morning, 14 persons had been kidnapped along Ankpechi Road.

I joined the community in praying for the repose of the souls of the departed at the site of the mass burial of the victims. We also visited the hospital to empathise with the injured, show our support, and pray for their quick recovery.

Having visited, seen, and spoken with those affected, I urge the Federal Government to demonstrate a greater commitment to securing the lives and property of citizens and to closing the ungoverned spaces that have become breeding grounds for insecurity.

The primary purpose of government is the security and welfare of its citizens. When government fails in this responsibility, as it has with the people of Otukpo-Nobi, Efeyi-Ugboju, and other troubled communities, it must be reminded of that sacred obligation.

May the souls of the departed continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen. -PO

My Salute to the young on International Youth Day.

Today, as we celebrate International Youth Day, I salute the courage, creativity, energy, and enormous potential of our young people. They are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; they are the greatest asset of our country today.

Yesterday, while travelling to Bauchi, I was reminded once again of what our youths are capable of. The two captains who flew us were young men of 20 and 28 years respectively, while the crew members were also in their 20s. Their competence, confidence, and professionalism were a powerful reminder that age is no barrier to excellence when young people are allowed to learn, work, and lead.

Across football, technology, medicine, aviation, entrepreneurship, academia, the creative industries, and countless other fields, our young people continue to demonstrate that Nigeria has no shortage of talent. What we lack is the deliberate investment and enabling environment to help that talent flourish.

We must therefore invest more in quality education, skills, healthcare, technology, sports, and decent employment. We must create a country where a young Nigerian does not have to leave Nigeria to fulfil his or her potential.

Our youths are not a burden to be managed. They are our greatest national asset and the builders of the Nigeria we desire.

On this International Youth Day, I celebrate our young people and reaffirm my commitment to a Nigeria where every young person has the opportunity to learn, work, create, lead, and prosper.

With the support and active participation of the youth, a new Nigeria is possible.

'I Never Said Military Should Reject Salary Increase'.

I wish to address a recent
report that falsely attributes a statement to me, suggesting that Nigerian soldiers should refuse any salary increments until after the elections. This assertion is entirely untrue.

My profound respect for our security forces, particularly the Nigerian Army personnel who diligently serve and protect our nation under challenging conditions, is unwavering. I have consistently advocated for the adequate provision of equipment, motivation, and protection for our security personnel.

My concern was palpable when soldiers were lost to insurgents due to a delayed rescue effort, prompting me to question how those defending us could be left vulnerable in their time of need.

Should I be elected President, the well-being, resources, safety, and honour of our soldiers will be a paramount priority. Those who ensure Nigeria's security must never be relegated to a secondary concern. Our soldiers are deserving of our utmost respect, unwavering support, and a government that will unequivocally stand by them. Under my leadership, scenarios where our servicemen and women are left unprotected in the face of peril will be eradicated.

I implore the Nigerian populace to dismiss this misleading report. I remain committed to articulating a clear and consistent vision for a secure and prosperous Nigeria. The realisation of a new and secure Nigeria is indeed POssible. -PO

We have officially started the bootcamp today in Enugu. 40 engineers are participating.

These children are going to learn how to make drones from scratch to help tackle security challenges and also speed up hospital medication delivery.

They will also learn hardcore Robotics and AI, Automechanics, Bricklaying, Welding, and Electricals.

This will be the beginning of a new direction for education in the South East.

We are raising real problem solvers with real skills, not a theory-based generation without skills.

The future is exciting!

I am in a very sombre mood today as the burial church service of my beloved brother and friend, Chief Mike Okaka, is taking place in the United States.

I was scheduled to attend the service in person but couldn't due to pressing exigencies at home; however, I was fortunate to participate virtually from the Church to the cemetery for the final interment.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers are entirely with the family and friends.

Mike was an eternally optimistic and passionate friend who was an unapologetic Obidient. His passing has left a vast void and a deep sense of loss.

May God comfort the family, friends, and colleagues, and grant them strength during this difficult time, and give Mike peaceful rest. Amen. -PO
