Last night (Sunday), Israeli forces raided Qalandiya Refugee Camp near Ramallah. During the raid, a Border Police officer was filmed abusing a Palestinian driver and throwing a stun grenade into his vehiclewhile blocking the door and preventing him and the passengers from escaping.

In the same raid camp, Israeli forces shot and killed 16-year-old Walid Abu Sneineh and injured three other Palestinians.

The widespread and unprecedented killing of Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank is the result of an Israeli policy, which allows the killing and violent abuse of Palestinians with no accountability.

Very good....Now for once Nigerians are thinking about Governors all day...a little distracted from President...

But that is EXACTLY WHY THE STATE POLICE MUST STAND...So that you learn to also focus on and demand accountability from your GOVERNORS ....
That is why more devolution of powers must happen

It's important that they try to re-explore peace and partnerships than be such staunch enemies after the past few months.

You worry more about Governors abusing state police during elections that happen once every four years. You do not worry about whether the state of insecurity under centralised policing can be such that elections are not even held in some places in the first place.

You do not worry about school children being kidnapped every day in hundreds or kidnappers collecting ransoms through bank accounts that have BVN for which you must have an NIN, and proudly posting videos on social media.

You worry about how the states would fund state police. You do not worry that the Federal Government consumes 52% of all resources, and wastes it on frivolous spending and on irrelevant and ineffective agencies, while 36 states and 774 LGAs only get 48%.

He notes that the credibility is documented and recent. S&P's 15 May 2026 upgrade to B from B-minus was the first in 14 years and the third positive sovereign action after Fitch and Moody's in 2025. Gross external reserves have recovered to about US$50 billion, the foreign-exchange market has been cleared and unified, and headline inflation has eased to 15.93% from 26.06% a year earlier.

He, however, notes that the same assessments that lifted the rating still flag a narrow revenue base, elevated poverty and unemployment, and an external position still sensitive to oil prices.

Awoyemi notes that whereas scale draws interest and reform credibility earns attention, neither, on its own, is capital. Against an infrastructure gap assessed at nearly US$2.3 trillion by 2043, the binding constraint is not the availability of money. It is bankability, clean risk allocation, currency matched to cash flows, and projects prepared before they are procured.

In this intervention, he sets out the corridor logic, the sustainability test, and the follow-through mechanism by which credibility becomes committed capital. The intervention places the focus where sovereign, institutional and development capital ultimately place it: credible institutions, predictable policy, enforceable contracts, prepared projects, appropriate currency and tenor structures, and a clear allocation of risk among public and private counterparties.

It argues that the present opportunity is not principally constrained by the availability of capital, but by the absence of a sovereign deal book/room that approximates the quality of project preparation and the discipline of execution."
