We earnestly need to submit a proposal for an amendment of the 1999 constitution to include a clause stipulating that: “no political party shall nominate a person as a candidate to contest any election whatever except such a person is of unquestionable integrity”. Period!

As a people, let’s produce a constitution transcending our arguments and settling our core political disagreements; creating social and ethical order, setting authoritative higher law over discord of politics, and evoking deeper sense of patriotism and justice in citizens.

To effectively exercise lawful authority one must stand on a high moral ground simply because lawful order must emanate from a strong moral authority. The problem with Nigeria today is that lawful authority has collapsed because its operators have low moral ground to exercise it.
