The J&K Waqf Board has pushed for uniform Friday sermons at all mosques in the Union Territory (UT) and will become the first region in the country to adopt this mechanism to ensure the topics to be highlighted at religious places are pre-decided and approved by a committee of preachers.

This is what democracy looks like: a sitting CM @vdsatheesan raising his voice against the illegal detention of the (LoP) of his own state and trying to secure his release. That’s how democracy works, not by detaining everyone who participates in a peaceful protest.

Deeply concerned and strongly condemn the arbitrary detention of Shri Pinarayi Vijayan (Leader of Opposition, Keralam) by the Delhi Police.

He is currently being held at Mandir Marg Police Station. On my instructions, the Chief Secretary, Keralam and the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi are in direct contact with Delhi Police authorities to coordinate all necessary steps for his immediate release.
