I think it depends on the person and the type of life they are trying to live. For example someone who is trying to run a small business may require the always on lifestyle. #315WeekTwelve
I personally do agree with Boy's notion of the Always-On-Lifestyle. I find that people are constantly connected to Social Media. I personally use social media very often for various things like news, sports news, music news etc. #315WeekTwelve
#315weekeleven I love seeing wikipedia memes too (pages are edited to something absurd). Happens often in the sports world and are usually pretty funny.
#315weekeleven I personally think wikipedia is an amazing source to get a quick basic rundown of practically any topic you are curious about. I feel like I use it almost every day
#315fakenews I always make sure to read past the headline. There is too many clickbait type titles which may have something outrageous to get people to click the article to increase ad revenue etc.
#315fakenews I think fake news is becoming more and more common because non credible sources are becoming increasingly influential. Apart from this, it is extremely easy to create and publish fake news with all the tech affordances available to us.
#315fakenews the first thing I think of when I hear/read fake news, which I'm sure alot of people share this opinion, is Donald Trump. He is definitely the face of fake news.
I don't particularly agree with the idea of "slacktivism" as given in the class context. I think any spreading of information online is valuable, and it can get the issue at hand more visibility. You may never know who's connected to who, and what a simple like or share can do.

Online activism is an important part of Social Media, and in my opinion is one of the best use cases of Social Media. In recent history, we've seen social media based activism become more and more prevalent, and we've seen it make change.
One of the best parts about it is that anyone from anywhere in the world can partake in it as long as they have access to an internet connection. This allows for movements to be stronger and more powerful than perhaps if they were IRL.
#315weekseven I chose "elegant" as my word. After searching the word I noticed it was very specific identity categories being shown. It was essentially all white males and females. Apart from that, it was mainly people dressed in formal wear.
#315weekSeven I personally have never heard of digital blackface before. I do agree with their point tho. Even tho social media, at times, is extremely disconnected from real life, it is still a real life representation of yourself and the communication rules should be the same
